This is Auggie with Jay from Covert Affairs. Auggie is on the left & is made of so many different kinds of awesome that he is tied with Hardison (from Leverage) for the enviable position of My Geek Husband. I rly can't choose between them. Auggie was blinded while at war but that isn't anything more than a blip on his timeline. I admire his wit & drool over his hacking/computing/pwning skillz, of which he has many. I often wonder how other techies feel, as he dances about lesser sighted mortals, ascending to every higher heights of technical prowess. Plus, Auggie has THE coolest toys (working for the CIA has its perks). I love how he treats Annie too...he absolutely has her back even though most of the time he's being all playful but if she's in a jam, any kind of jam, he's fixing it faster than you can say "spy". So yes, this icon is here because I love Auggie. Which you know, cuz I haven't said anything abt Jay except his name. Tee-hee. <333
HODGINS! This is Dr. Jack Hodgins from Bones. Of all my TV Husbands I like to think he is the most likely to actually marry me IRL. I adore him so much he has his own post on my LJ. I like this in particular cuz his expression & the caption fit perfectly. Hodgins is a no-nonsense kinda guy & if u start spouting crap, he's the first to call you on it. He's fun & loyal but most of all he's wholehearted in his approach to life, which means if you're gonna have a friend or a triple-PhD working on your loved one's murder, or a filthy, stinking rich husband (& yes, he is LOADED, tho he prefers that ppl not know it cuz he wants to be judged on his character & quality of work) then this is your guy. *has flashback to when Hodgins declared his love to Angela by actually saying "I'm ur guy"*
This is Fiona Glenanne from Burn Notice. Fi is...WOW. Fi is Irish & absolutely loves blowing stuff up & buying stuff on sale, especially shoes, guns, C4 and ammunition. She is beautiful, petite, skilled (she has been known to don an apron in Mike's kitchen & whip up a bomb). She has no formal training but in any number of situations she behaves like a highly decorated CIA spy. In essence, Fi is full of jois de vive & is one of the few ppl who can really speak to Micheal's heart (he likes to keep that organ well hidden) & is unafraid to call him on his crap. She is bold & I adore & respect her quite possibly more than any other female in fandom. She is in a class by herself.
Gwen (maidservant) & Arthur (Prince of Camelot) from BBC's Merlin, a re-telling of Arthurian legend. This is The Hug By Which All Future Embraces Will be Judged. At this point, they're both mourning because someone they both love is dying. I love this because by this point in canon, it is absolutely true that they are safe with each other. I love that Gwen is comfortable enough to go to Arthur when she is so distressed. I love that she has abandoned her "One day you will find your real Princess. One day you will be King of Camelot. & I can not be your Queen" worldview in favour of the "I love u & u love me, & ur father is gonna have an aneurysm when he finds out that you want to marry a maid but we are done fighting this thing between us" view which I HIGHLY endorse. ;) & I love how, in this scene, she is just as much about comforting Arthur & making sure he's as ok as he can be, as he is about comforting her. I AM SO EXCITED FOR THEIR EVENTUAL WEDDING IT IS UNREAL. I LEGIT squee when I try to picture it. It will be STUNNING. & I will grin for at least a week.
LEVERAGE! My shiniest fandom :D If you're not watching Leverage, please go do that today. It is soooooooooooo much fun! Anyoo, there are 5 ppl on the team. These 3 I call the kids (Eliot Spencer, Parker & Alec Hardison) cuz Nate & Sophie just feel like their parents. I love this icon cuz as much as Parker is INSANE & annoys Eliot sometimes, & as much as Eliot has no patience for Alec's SciFi references, or geek-spirals, & as much as Alec wishes Eliot would slow down sometimes & let him handle a problem via tech instead of rushing in to handle it like a hitter, these 3? Are so tightly wrapped up in each other it would take a very skilled team of surgeons to find out where one ends & the other begins (this is true of all 5 of them). u can not touch one without touching the others. & I love that cuz when they started out they were loners & their first instinct anytime anything went bad was to split up, but now? No matter what they go through, they always have each other's backs & home is wherever they all are. Behind the bickering & the everyday annoyances is a bond stronger than tempered steel. & I love that. & very technically, they're all thieves (though now they use their skills to help ppl), so I think the caption is especially appropriate. ;)
