DUP Health Spokesperson Diane Dodds MLA has welcomed the announcement of additional funding for hospices across Northern Ireland, while warning that the continued reliance on emergency financial support highlights the need for a sustainable long-term funding model.
The Department of Health has confirmed £1.1 million for Northern Ireland’s four adult hospices and a further £500,000 for the Children’s Hospice following concerns that services and beds could face cuts without urgent intervention.
