- The gang goes up to the Cabots' mountain retreat, where they encounter a strange hooded figure, sobbing and howling. The caretaker of the Cabots' cabin tells them that this was a prospector whose lust for gold got his wife and daughter killed a hundred years ago, and who still prowls the mountain in eternal anguish. When the gang goes to inspect an old tunnel the next day, they discover gold, and themselves fall prey to gold fever -- until the undead prospector returns to scare them away.
