The Marvel Family as a concept first appeared with the first appearance of the Three Lieutenant Marvels in Whiz Comics (Fawcett, 1940 series) #21 (September 5, 1941).
The name was used in promos and PSA's thereafter but mostly reflected the core of Captain Marvel, Captain Marvel Jr., and Mary Marvel as The Marvel Family.
The group received its own comic book title, The Marvel Family (Fawcett, 1945 series) #1 (December 1945).
