Triune Understanding (English)

Description:

Triune Understanding is a fictional religious movement and organization founded by Jonathan Tremont as a philosophical and spiritual group centered on triadic concepts such as mind-body-spirit and other threefold harmonies. Within Avengers storylines, the Triune Understanding operates as both a fast-growing self-help/cult-like movement and a manipulative force that claims to maximize human potential while covertly serving Tremont’s agenda, which involves locating powerful cosmic artifacts and undermining the Avengers’ reputation; its ranks have included figures such as government liaison Duane Freeman and hero Triathlon, who believed his powers were granted through the sect before distancing himself from it.

Notes:

First appearance in Avengers (Marvel, 1998 series) #9 [Direct Edition] (October 1998) by Kurt Busiek (b. 1960) and George Pérez (b. 1954).
