Description:

Eons ago, the Old Gods destroyed themselves and their world in a great war. From the molten remnants formed two new planets, and upon these worlds eventually arose the New Gods. New Genesis was a place of peace and beauty, while Apokolips was a place of tyranny and violence.

Notes:

Darkseid was introduced in Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen (DC, 1954 series) #134 (December 1970). The Forever People were introduced in The Forever People (DC, 1971 series) #1 (February-March 1971). Highfather, Orion, Lightray, Metron, and others were introduced in The New Gods (DC, 1971 series) #1 (February-March 1971). Scott Free was introduced in Mister Miracle (DC, 1971 series) #1 (March-April 1971).
