Biography:
Fershid Bharucha est un auteur, éditeur et traducteur français de bande dessinée né à Poona, en Inde, le 22 mai 1943. Spécialiste de la bande dessinée américaine (particulièrement de celle de science-fiction), il a introduit de nombreux auteurs américains auprès du public francophone d'Europe, dans les années 1970 et 1980 : Will Eisner, Wallace Wood, Jeff Jones, Berni Wrightson, Neal Adams, Richard Corben, Mark Schultz, Rand Holmes, Shary Flenniken. Dans le sillage du succès du magazine de bande dessinée "L’Écho des savanes spécial USA", qui paraît fin 1976, Bharucha co-fonde en 1978, avec les éditions du Fromage dirigées par Mandryka, une nouvelle maison d'édition, les Éditions du Triton, qui lance deux revues, "Vampirella" et "Creepy", puis édite des albums. En 1981, il travaille au sein des Éditions Icare, puis fonde sa maison d'édition Neptune en 1982. Bharucha continue de diriger le magazine "Spécial USA" lorsqu'il est repris par Albin Michel, puis il part chez Glénat pour y lancer la collection puis les éditions Comics USA (1987-1995). Il fonde alors sa maison d'édition Éditions USA, jusqu'à sa retraite en 2003. [Fershid Bharucha is a French comic book author, publisher and translator born in Poona, India on 22 May 1943.
