Description:
Artemis is the Shim'Tar ("greatest warrior") of the Egyptian Amazons of Bana-Mighdall. She won a contest held by Queen Hippolyta to determine who would be the new Wonder Woman, and served in that role for a short time. Artemis was later a member of the Hellenders, calling herself Requiem. She has also joined forces with other superhero teams throughout her time, including Justice League International, the Suicide Squad, and Red Hood's Outlaws. Artemis has divine powers and is immortal, as well as possessing the ability to fly, shape-shift, and become invisible. In addition to all of this (and more) she is a weapons master, highly skilled at unarmed combat, skilled with gadgets, magic, intellect, she can control animals, and she's incredibly rich to boot! Since DC Rebirth, Artemis has had her history remade to fit in with other changes to the DC Universe. She is still Bana-Mighdall Amazon, but now a hostile warrior on a noble quest to right the wrongs in her past.
