Echoverse

The Echoverse is an alternate reality version of the Multiverse created by the planeswalker Jace Beleren.

Origin

In the aftermath of the New Phyrexian Invasion, Jace was traumatized by the devastation and the role he himself played in that as a compleated planeswalker. After undoing his compleation on Vryn, he decided to fix the Multiverse by creating an alternative to it, free of suffering. Though trying to make a perfect multiverse, what he defines as perfect comes with his own biases. At the same time, the ripples of reality created some unexpected results.

Differences between the Echoverse and the Multiverse

• All the suffering brought by the Phyrexians, Eldrazi, and Nicol Bolas has been erased.
• Jace himself is known as the Theorist.
• Liliana Vess, instead of becoming a necromancer, became a healer white-aligned.
• Ral Zarek is an Orzhov lawmage rather than an Izzet storm mage.
• Chandra Nalaar's father, Kiran Nalaar, didn't die and the pair became Consulate enforcers. Chandra is much calmer, more collected, and she is an ice mage.
• Garruk is in possession of the Chain Veil.
• Hexhaven is the Echoverse's version of Strixhaven, featuring five allied-colored colleges. Jace uses this place of abundant magical energy to stabilize his creation.
• The university is guarded by faceless enforcers resembling warped versions of Jace's childhood bully, Tuck

Reality Fracture

The Echoverse is far from perfect, populated by eerie doppelgangers and warped versions of many heroes and villains. And it's hungry. To sustain itself, it needs to consume everything it imitates.

Now, the only way to prevent the Multiverse itself from being overwritten is to take down its creator. For this purpose, the Gatewatch assembles to fight one of its founding members.
