The year 2026 is the thirty-fourth year of Magic: The Gathering. There is no Standard rotation for this year to allow the rotation period to occur with the first set release of each calendar year.

January 5	The set trailer for Lorwyn Eclipsed is released. The musical trailer is a collaboration between Wizards of the Coast and The Jim Henson Company.
January 9–11	Magic Spotlight Series: The Avatar, held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA and Lyon, France. The format is Standard. The Atlanta, Georgia event is won by Kye Nelson. The Lyon, France event is won by Simon Nielsen.
January 13	Banned and restricted list announcement. Historic: Devoted Druid and Painter's Servant, both from the Lorwyn Eclipsed Special Guests, are pre-emptively banned.
January 16–18	At prerelease events for Lorwyn Eclipsed some prerelease packs are found to contain foil promo cards from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, spoiling many of the rares and mythic rares from that set. Wizards of the Coast acknowledges the incorrect promos and advises stores to replace the TMNT promos where possible.
January 19	Four-time Player of the Year and seven-time Pro Tour champion Kai Budde passes away after a battle with cancer.
January 23	Release of Lorwyn Eclipsed. After sixteen years, Wizards of the Coast ends the Buy-a-Box promo program.
January 26	Release of the Secret Lair Drop Series: Rad Superdrop. Includes three mechanically unique Universes Beyond cards representing characters from the Fallout TV series.
January 30 – February 1	Pro Tour Lorwyn Eclipsed at Richmond, Virginia, USA. Won by Christoffer Larsen.
February 2	Release of the Chaos Vault Prints Charming drop. The four card drop was released at five different price points for foil and five different price points for non-foil, with no product differences between the price points.
February 3	Release of Alchemy: Lorwyn.
February 6–8	Magic Spotlight Series: Eclipsed in Toronto, Canada. The format is Limited.
February 9	Banned and restricted list announcement. Historic: Eldrazi Temple; Ajani, Nacatl Pariah // Ajani, Nacatl Avenger; Crop Rotation and Scholar of the Lost Trove are banned. Magus of the Moon; Harbinger of the Seas; Force of Vigor; Force of Negation; Endurance; Wilderness Reclamation and Agent of Treachery are unbanned. Timeless: Necropotence is restricted. Commander: Biorhythm and Lutri, the Spellchaser are unbanned. Commander introduces a new designation, "banned as companion", with one card: Lutri, the Spellchaser. Release of Secret Lair Drop Series: Roll for Initiative Superdrop. Includes seven Dungeons & Dragons drops.
February 23	Release of the Chaos Vault Brain Dead: New Earth Mentality drop.
March 2	Release of the Secret Lair Drop Series: Totally Tubulair Superdrop.
March 6–8	Release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Magic Spotlight Series: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in Richmond, Virginia. The format is Standard.
March 16	Release of the Chaos Vault Secret Lair: Dandân Deck drop.
March 23	Banned and restricted list announcement. Historic: Food Chain is banned.
April 1	Release of Secret Lair Drop Series: Marvel: I Fixed It (You're Welcome).
April 24	Release of Secrets of Strixhaven.
