While the boys of Prince of Tennis are busy performing physics-defying stunts, and playing impossible sorts of tennis, there are a number of sports left unexplored, languishing in the dark. And teams, as well. Especially the girls teams. We never see much of the girls in Prince of Tennis; and the few we do see are not the most loved of characters, oftentimes; and some of them lack any tennis skills. But there has to be people outside of those characters, ones whom are just as good as the players on the boys' teams, ones whom are likeable. + Although this is based around the concept of Prince of Tennis, it is mostly an original character roleplaying game. Meaning, the characters here will be original creations of the individual players. + Along that line, there should be no perfect characters, no Mary Sues. Character development is key. Creating well-rounded individuals, with their flaws and quirks is what we'd like to see here. + In addition to the original characters, certain characters from the Prince of Tennis anime/manga will be mentioned, with the possibilities of being used for RP scenes. But the focus will be on the original characters. + The girls team chosen for this RP is the Rikkaidai Girl's Team. Why? No particular reason. + And although the anime/manga is set in middle school, high school is a much more interesting time in a character's life. So this will be set when the characters are in high school, corresponding to the grades 10th, 11th, and 12th, in the American school system. Ages would range from 14-18. + When working on developing a character, keep in mind that most of these girls would have known each other for years; since the beginning of high school for most, if not middle school. One or two transfer students, either from other schools, or outside of the country, will be accepted. + If you are joining later in the game, after a couple of people are in the game, talk to someone already in the game to establish some friendships beforehand. Or, once you are a part of the game, don't hestitate to make friends. + Since this is based around original characters, the application process will be detailed. I like things beyond the usual "personality" and "history" so the application will be somewhat different. + The girls on the Rikkaidai tennis team are defending their Nationals title. They won the previous year, after a losing streak, and the pressure is on them to keep their title. + The RP will be starting at the beginning of the school year for the Japanese students, the first day of club meetings. And to keep it even, a mix of students + seniors, juniors, and freshman will be allowed. Too many of one grade and characters will be asked to change their ages/grades. + The tennis team consists of eight players, altogether. Doubles 1 & 2, Singles 1, 2, & 3, and an alternate. In addition to those, two outside characters + a manager, a close friend of the team, a devoted fan, etc + will be accepted. It'll be a small RP, keep that in mind. + I'll add in some things about the community (new character journals, probably; and the community will be open for the public to read, if they want) later, when I figure it all out. |
