I started making this mix because Asian psychedelic rock sounded like something that was worth exploring - that and I knew that two compilations focusing on the genre had come out recently - 'Those Shocking Shaking Days' (a view into the Indonesian scene of the 70s), and 'Beautiful Rivers And Mountains' (a retrospective of the career of Shin Joong Hyun, an amazing South Korean artist), both of which I highly recommend.
Other compilations I found and took songs from were 'Saigon Rock and Soul' (Vietnam) and 'The Sound of Siam' (Thailand), and I came across some random music to fill out the mix, but eventually I added some Dengue Fever tracks to bring it up to an hour (Dengue is a band that emulates old Cambodian pop, so it wasn't too far of a stretch).
Conclusion - Asia didn't produce much psychedelic rock, but what was made stands up to other world scenes. And the last song here, Kim Jung Mi's 'The Sun,' is pretty damn amazing. Peace
