"Bulimundo is a group that researches Funaná, whose research concerns a genre of music that needed national independence so that the awareness of things and socio-cultural situations could freely assert themselves. It is the country's cultural reunion. Bulimundo also shows that it is necessary to overcome the ‘Sotaventismo’ or, more precisely, ‘Santiaguismo’ also narrow and opportunist of those for whom, from now on, what counts is the Funaná, making the rest just a historical tale.
Several groups have tried this research path, but Bulimundo is undoubtedly the group that has gone further ... not limited to the investigation of traditional music but composes and bears its own, well-defined style."
