Play Video Mystery surrounds a Nissan Juke submerged in River Avon at Marlcliff, Warwickshire. May 19, 2026. // Mystery surrounds a Nissan Juke found wedged in the water of River Avon just a stones throw away from a popular beauty spot. The submerged car is thought to have entered the water around six weeks ago and is marked by orange buoys. The family SUV, which retails for ??32,000, was spotted by a member of the public while out paddleboarding along the scenic Warwickshire waterway. The Avon Navigation Trust (ANT), the navigation authority for the river, said plans to retrieve the mystery car were being drawn up. A spokesperson for the Trust said: ???We were made aware of a car in the river near Marlcliff Lock and as it is potentially an obstruction to boat traffic, have buoyed it and made river users aware through our communication channels. ???Our clearance barge is currently involved with ongoing repairs at Nafford Lock, but once she is available we will attempt to remove it.???
