Despite the truly atrocious acting, absurd writing, and tired story line, for some reason Hollywood critics fall on their knees for this inconsequential TV show. I wonder why they feign adoration for this clearly awful production? Are they obtuse, or are they motivated by other reasons? Hmm I can't imagine. We laughed at all this and turned the show off after about 30 minutes. It's all just hilarious.

I'm surprised Amazon went ahead with this production. In hindsight, looking at the failure of Netflix's The Abandons maybe gave them pause. Regardless it's very peculiar to me that a group of people, maybe AI, wrote this series with the assumption that anyone was going to be entertained. Anyone with any knowledge of history, even a US History 101 college student could understand that this show is utter nonsense. Events did not go the way this poorly-written, poorly-acted show depicts. Even Mary-Louise Parker, a fantastic actress back in the 2000s, couldn't save this atrocity. Absurd, trite, and yet another swing-and-miss from Amazon Studio.

I miss when comedies were written to be funny, instead of Sunday sermons, droning on forever. Unfortunately this sitcom falls into the trap of thinking that they need to preach to the audience instead of making us laugh, or even occasionally chuckle. Also, Hollywood seems to be completely bereft of original ideas. They see an existing IP, and immediately try (in vain) to desperately re-work the original creation with a "modern" spin. These "updated for the modern audiences" shows and movies have not work in the past, and they will continue to fail. It's exhausting and I think a majority of us are tired of The Message.

They need to start finding actors who can actually, you know, act. The lead in this show (Simu Liu) sounds like he is literally reading his lines from a cue card. Zero charisma from any of other headlining actors as well. The entire casting dept needs to be given their pink slips.Boring and trite writing, this has all been done before. The Copenhagen Test will be a one-and-done season, and yet another tax write-off for a struggling Peacock.

Unbelievably bad, hackneyed writing. Ten years ago dialogue like this would have been laughed out of the room, but for some reason lines like this are still being written (paraphrased): "Why do Mexican voices not matter? Only White voices matter now?" Ham-fisted, in-your-face writing that had my entire family laughing out loud. Unintentionally funny, absurd, and so many of the lines sounded exactly like AI. Also, other than Gillian Anderson, the acting was laughable as well. What a colossal waste of time and money, if Netflix wants people to continue to pay them every month they need to get some new people running the company. Preferably people who aren't still stuck in 2020. 1/10 - Do Not Recommend

Walhberg does his best but the writers are all over the place. You've inserted Jewish Muslim and Catholics storylines and none of it means anything, no one cares. It's just idiotic to try and shove all this stuff into a cop show. We get it, we see exactly what you're trying to do, but we're not going to watch anymore. Also Sonequesoa (not sure how you spell it) needs to return to acting school because her performances are always laughably bad. The entire show is a reach and I blame: 1) the writers 2) casting dept 3) CBS for not realizing it's no longer 2020, this sh#t isn't going to fly anymore

I enjoyed it for what it is: A fun TV show that doesn't take itself too seriously. The acting is above average and the storylines are entertaining. I hope it gets a second season because we watched and enjoyed every episode.

Feels like D-team writers from Bosch were asked to come up with the storyline for this lifeless TV show. The acting from the lead is awfully weak and overall it feels completely absent of any verve, spark or even a bit of humor. We got bored, glancing at our phones for a distraction, so we turned it off during the 3rd episode.

Total crap. Lame acting, no humor, boring storyline. I can't believe some people sitting around a table discussed this idea for a show and thought 'yeah this is going to work'. Just more garbage, and of course we see the same predictable stereotypes. Someone needs to tell Hollywood it's time to turn the page. DEI is so tiresome.

A few of the reasons I don't like this: Voiceover is lame, DEI casting is tiresome and considered a relic from the St George cult, Humor falls flat!

This is a really fun and laid back show. Love the characters and it's a bit quirky and funny. I'm enjoying how the guy gets to cruise around and take care of business.

Anyone who whimsically tells you this is honest is not. Anyone who tells you this is funny is not. Anyone who tells you this is "real" is not. Watch 5 minutes of the show and then tell me with a straight face it's worthy of TV, much less HBO. Who is in charge of the asylum anymore? Lena?

This show is absolutely hilarious. I realize P-Valley is not a comedy but I could not stop belly laughing through this show. The dialogue is full-tilt unintentionally stupid ridiculous, the acting is really really funny, and the accents are freaking ludicrous... in the funniest way. Please *pretty please* keep this show coming because it's truly the most I've laughed at the television in a couple of months. Ladies and gentlemen, the unintentionally funny award goes to P-Valley. Hats off the the editors, actors, writers and directors for shoveling this dreck onto Starz!

Stunning cinematography, superb acting by virtually every character, and one of the best soundtracks to a TV show I have ever heard. Really hope there will be a second season. Highly recommended.
