It's the ultimate Mario Kart package rather than the best, but it's still a lot of fun. [Apr 2008, p.47]

A fantastic racer and the best online Nintendo game ever. [Apr 2008, p.58]

Ultimately, the sheer sensory pleasure of playing Mario Kart Wii - from the charming animations, to the bopping tunes, to the sugar-rush boosting, to the exquisite steering - far overcomes the few concerns we have about it. It still has to be docked a mark for the awkward structure and compromised multiplayer modes - but it's still unreservedly recommended to anyone for whom Mario Kart is a gaming cornerstone.

A challenging game that doesn't need to be mastered to unravel its very good content. However, the controlers are a bit of a mess and uncomformy

Absolutely amazing game, the nitro tracks are top notch in this game , the retro tracks are about 75/25, most are pretty fun, but the other like 25% are not great, the battle mode is not fun because you are stuck in teams but the stages are good at least but at what cost, I know I seem to be negative but I love this game not to mention what the community has done to make this game even better, truly a great game.

Mario Kart Wii has more variety, more to do, and ultimately more to keep you coming back than any Mario Kart before it (and as a hardcore advocate of the SNES original, I never thought I would find myself saying that); but more than that, it is a flagship title for the Nintendo Wii. Not only is Mario Kart Wii the most important title that will be released on the format this year, but it will stand the test of time as one of the best games the Wii has to offer.

Despite initial fears, this is proper Mario Kart, and it's Mario Kart done right. It's fast, it's fun and still one of the best party games ever created. Thanks to some seriously well-implemented online options though, it brings so much more to the table than its forebears, most notably in terms of longevity.

In my opinion, the best Wii game of ALL time. I recomend to play with yours friends and family.

Perhaps the best in the series. The online is better than Mario Kart DS', and the graphics are the best in the series. The only thing that may deter some players is the obnoxious power of the items.

You'll assuredly have plenty of fun with this, even if Nintendo's play-it-safe, dumb-it-down approach will make many longtime players yearn for something more ambitious and risky.

Newcomers will find a fast-paced, easy-to-play title that relishes in its own ability to capitalize on the wacky approachability and fun of Nintendo’s mascot characters.

While Mario Kart Wii is an enjoyable sequel we can't help but be a little disappointed that the same level of effort Nintendo put into Mario Galaxy and Smash Bros. isn't mirrored here.

Mario Kart boils down to a whole lot of luck and very little skill.

This installation is vastly superior to other games in the series. I would find this version second, only to Mario kart 8. Wii controls make this game replayable over and over, and is a blast to play with friends. It’s too bad there’s no online version anymore, until it gets added on NSO. This is a perfect game despite what anybody else says. It’s a perfect example of Nintendo improving with each installment

This is a classic that formed many great memories from my childhood. The wii is a bit jank as a controller tho.

Mario Kart Wii is great. What is there to hate? Motion controls? Joke's on you, I thought it was cool and sick. One of the few Mario Karts I have ever played, but I do recommend this (I should get Mario Kart 8 Deluxe since 400cc might be fun).

It's definitely not the best Mario Kart, but still an easy seven out of ten.

the Mario kart games are always a classic and this game is no different. there is one major thing that separates this game from being the best of the bunch, the tilt controls. these are the only option for playing and defiantly ruins the experience for the most part.

I always remember this game fondly but whenever I revisit it I just get pissed off and bored. It just gets boring after a while. There are some great tracks, there are also many bland and bad tracks. Playing by myself really isn’t that fun. And actually 100%ing the game really just seems like a painful unfair waste of time. So many things that will screw me over are things beyond my control. Oh I got first on the first 3 tracks **** Prix, well that **** cause I’m gonna get hit with 15 different items at the end of the 4th race so I score really poorly and don’t get a first place trophy and a 3 star rank. That’s really bad game design. I basically have to hope I get lucky 32 times in order for me to get a 3 star rank on ever cup.
