Wikimedia CEE Hub Steering Committee Election 2026/Eligibility
The eligibility criteria for voters and candidates in the Wikimedia CEE Hub Steering Committee Election 2026 are based on the provisions outlined in the Wikimedia CEE Hub Internal Governance document.
Voter eligibility
editTo be eligible to vote, individuals must be members of the Wikimedia CEE Hub community.
A Wikimedia CEE Hub community member is any Wikimedian with a Wikimedia account who meets at least one of the following criteria by 18 June 2026:
- Present on the CEE Hub mailing list
- Present on the CEE General mailing list
- Member of the CEE Youth Group mailing list
- Delegate to the CEE Meeting at least once in the last 5 years
In addition, eligible voters must:
- Have a Wikimedia account created on or before 18 December 2025
- Have at least 300 edits on Wikimedia projects between 18 December 2025 and 18 June 2026
- Not have been blocked on any Wikimedia project between 18 March 2026 and 18 June 2026, and not be currently blocked

Each eligible voter may cast:
- One vote for Community positions
- One vote for Affiliate positions (if designated by an affiliate)
Note: Current Wikimedia Foundation staff members are not eligible to vote.
Candidate eligibility
editTo be eligible as a candidate, individuals must first meet all voter eligibility criteria.
In addition, candidates must:
- Be at least 18 years old by 18 June 2026
- Be eligible to vote (as defined above)
- Participate in at least two of the three CEE Hub Advisory Group monthly status meetings before the close of nominations
The meetings are scheduled as follows: (15 April 2026, 20 May 2026, 17 June 2026)
Each meeting lasts one hour, from 16:00 to 17:00 UTC (18:00 to 19:00 CEST).

Community candidates
edit- May self-nominate
- May also be nominated by others, but must explicitly accept the nomination before 18 June 2026
Affiliate candidates
edit- Must be nominated by a Wikimedia affiliate in good standing (List of the eligible CEE affiliates)
- The nomination must be publicly documented by the affiliate (e.g., on a website or in meeting notes)
Additional notes
edit- Each affiliate designates one voter for Affiliate positions
- A person may vote in both categories if they are eligible as both a community member and an affiliate representative
- The term limit for Steering Committee members is 6 consecutive years
- In cases where the interpretation of the rules or eligibility criteria is unclear, the Electoral Commission is responsible for making the final determination, including verifying whether requirements have been fulfilled
