Biography

A Romulan male, Tenqem Adrew became an individual that was once elevated to serve as a representative within the Imperial Senate before it was dissolved with the collapse of the Romulan Star Empire. In the face of the impending supernova that threatened to eradicate their star system, Tenqem Adrev sat alongside his colleagues when the Starfleet Admiral Jean-Luc Picard delivered his address at the Hall of State, promising aid from the United Federation to assist the evacuation effort. Listening to Picard, Adrev and his peers were deeply affected by his words and Tenqem himself later claimed that it had brought him to tears. However, though Adrev was one of the numerous refugees that were subsequently relocated to the planet Vashti, the decision the Federation later made to withdraw their support as a consequence of the unexpected attack on Mars left him embittered towards their government. As a result, a substantial portion of the Romulan civilisation was annihilated when the star Hobus went supernova, taking the Imperial capital and billions of lives with it while leaving the remainder of their population scattered across the galaxy. Being one of the latter, the former senator Adrev blamed the Federation and Picard for their failure to save his now-diminished people, who later established the Romulan Free State as a successor to their late empire. Because of his feelings, however, Tenqem abstained from resuming his career within the emergent republic and instead began to identify as being a member of the Romulan Rebirth movement, a paramilitary organisation built from those amidst his kinsmen that sought to revive their lost culture, which developed a presence for itself on Vashti. A strong believer of Imperial principles, Tenqem Adrev came to believe that the Federation Starfleet had utilised the confusion and fear of the Hobus supernova to entice and splinter the Romulan people, but underestimated the resolve, self-sufficiency and ingenuities of their centuries-old foes.

In 2399, Tenqem Adrev continued to reside on Vashti, which the now-retired Jean-Luc Picard returned to in the same year. Alerting his comrades-in-arms to the arrival, Adrev later confronted Picard after he seated himself at the Romulan Social Club, noting the failure of Starfleet to save his people, despite the promises that had been made, then broken. He then proceeded to tell Picard the details of his evacuation onboard the USS Nightingale transport and accused the Federation of deliberately undermining his people at their time of vulnerability, which Picard adamantly denied. Adrev dismissed his words, however, and challenged Picard to a duel, calling two fellow rebirthers named Skantal and Bidran to his side. After a single parried thrust, Picard threw his sword aside and refused to fight any further. They were then interrupted by Elnor, who urged Adrev to back down. When Adrev attempted to attack Picard again, Elnor swiftly beheaded him with his tan qalanq. (PIC episode: "Absolute Candor")
