Sandor was a 23rd century Tekkorian man who lived underneath the sea bed of Tekkor's ocean.
Biography
In 2267, during a battle between Tekkorian sea-snakes and red octopus monsters, Sandor was one of two Tekkorians manning a gun turret on the ocean floor. They shot one of the sea-snakes, and it retaliated by smashing the turret. After the two men swam up to the surface, Spock rescued them aboard the shuttlecraft NCC-1701/8.
Sandor and his compatriot explained that James T. Kirk's landing party had found a hospital within an undersea hangar bay, but not having a universal translator, Kirk's team thought the Tekkorians were hostile and attacked. Spock quickly dove the shuttle underwater, and Sandor swam out to open the bay airlock's outer doors, but they had been damaged during the sea-snake battle. A repair team on the other side fixed the airlock, and the shuttle safely entered. Spock brought a translator to Kirk to defuse the situation, and friendly relations were established.
