Psychology

Psychology was the science that studied the mental processes and behavior of humans and other races and cultures. One who studies the subject is generally known as an psychologist.

History and specifics

In 2269, when Mantilles was threatened with destruction by a cosmic cloud creature, Captain James T. Kirk asked Dr. Leonard McCoy for an expert medical opinion on mass psychology; however, McCoy denied being an expert in the subject. In the 24th century, Starfleet Academy's curriculum included Psyc 101 (Intro to Psychology), Psyc 213 (Cognitive Psychology), Psyc 431 (Neuropsychology) and Psyc 493 (Internship practicum). (Last Unicorn RPG module: Starfleet Academy Handbook)
