Colonel Mitchum was a male human member of Earth’s military in North America in the 23rd century.
History
In the year 2266, Mitchum was a colonel serving the region which encompassed Urey University. When a giant vrell escaped from the xenobiology department, causing widespread property damage, Mitchum was assigned to stop the animal, and had directed several armed hovercraft to shoot it down. When Barbara McCoy appealed to him to let her handle the situation, he knew her by reputation, relayed her request to his superiors, and allowed her to proceed. (TOS comic: "Furlough to Fury")
