Nitrogen (symbol N) is a chemical element, a gas with atomic number 7 on the periodic table.

Characteristics and history

Nitrogen has an atomic mass of 14.0067, and was discovered by Humans for the first time in Scotland on Earth's European continent in the year 1772. (ST reference: Star Fleet Medical Reference Manual)

Nitrogen can commonly be found in the atmospheres of class M, class O and class P planets. (ST reference: Star Charts)
