Kesh was the Chancellor of the High Council of the Klingon Empire from at least late 2269/early 2270 and into the 2280s. He was preceded by Chancellor Sturka and succeeded by Chancellor Gorkon. (TOS novel: Agents of Influence; TOS novel: In the Name of Honor; TOS - Mere Anarchy eBook: The Blood-Dimmed Tide)
Prior to ascending to the position of Chancellor, Kesh served on the Klingon High Council as a Councillor under the reign of Chancellor Sturka, and was involved in the discrediting of fellow council-member Duras, with whom he was previously allied, at the hands of Gorkon, by way of leaked intelligence to the Federation News Service in 2268. (VAN novel: Storming Heaven)
- Chancellor Kesh was established in the TOS novel: In the Name of Honor, which also established that he was removed in a coup d'etat in 2287. However, the TOS - Mere Anarchy eBook: The Blood-Dimmed Tide had Kesh still in power in 2291.
