Dietrich was a 23rd century Human man, a member of the Starfleet security contingent aboard the Federation starship USS Enterprise-A in the 2280s decade.
Biography
Dietrich wore a provisional officer's red uniform collar.
In the year 2288, Dietrich was assigned to the security team sent with representatives of the Starfleet Surgeon General's office to the planet Datugad. When the Federation representatives were entering the medical building, a group of Essejjians started a riot, and clubbed Dietrich from behind. The entire contingent was taken hostage and Doctor Corazon Kohwangko begged the captors to allow medical attention for the concussed Dietrich. Shelm and Donnor informed her that the way of Essejj did not allow for such measures as they interfered with their philosophy. (TOS comic: "So Near the Touch")
