Decius was a Romulan junior officer who served aboard the
in the 23rd century.
Biography
Decius, although considered noble, was from a family with "high places" in the Romulan Star Empire and used them to manipulate ship commander Keras into more direct actions against the Federation. However, Decius was not wholly above the law - Keras once reduced him two steps in rank for sending an unauthorized communication to the Praetor.
Decius was killed in battle with the USS Enterprise in 2266 along with the rest of his ship's crew. (TOS episode: "Balance of Terror", ST website: StarTrek.com, CCG set: Basic, card: "Decius")
In the 24th century, the warbird
was named in his honor. (TNG episode: "Future Imperfect")
