Cereon was a Klingon-held planet located in non-aligned space near the Federation-Klingon Neutral Zone in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrant.
History and specifics
Cereon supported an enormous research center, portions of which were devoted to assessing weaknesses of Federation starships. One test determined that a carefully-placed explosive within the secondary hull of a USS Enterprise replica would destroy the vessel.
In 2267, the Enterprise passed within tactical range of Cereon. Klingons assigned a non-corporeal Cereonian to sabotage the starship, and diverted a D7-class Klingon battlecruiser for support. (TOS comic: "The Saboteur Within")
