    Welcome to the bone/pain zone… 🤕🫩😵‍💫

  • Hi! I’m Fractal/mathsbian and my pronouns are they/them(+). I have been here since at least 2014. I am 30. In case it wasn’t obvious from the skin tone visible in my avatar, I am white.

You can tap the search icon on mobile to see my showcased tags. ℹ️ Before you follow ℹ️. And for anybody under 18 considering a follow… 🖥️Checkout my blog on desktop!🖥️

    • ♾️ I’m autistic and have a special interest in Star Wars media. I’m especially fond of Obi-Wan, Padme, Ahsoka, and the pre-prequel era. And the period between epIII and epIV.
    • 🧠 I have OCD, I will not tolerate anyone, especially anons, moralizing my posting or nitpicking my identity. I also post about autism and neurodivergence more generally.
    • ♿️ I have severe chronic pain and chronic fatigue causing me a lot of brain fog most days. I will often quick-reblog without tagging posts. Sometimes I will go back later and add tags to some of these.
    • 🚫 On a related note, I am unemployed and have no money. Don’t ask me for money, don’t ask me to fundraise for you, when I’ve tried I’ve not been any help and have only ended up getting told I’m directly responsible for children supposedly dying because I literally don’t have even $1 to donate.
    • 🏛️ I’m in the US Southern Border State (Civil War border, not national border)/Upper Bible Belt state of Kentucky. I’m very passionate about hating Mitch McConnell (Sen., R), Rand Paul (Sen., R), and Andy Barr (Rep., R). And also Republicans in general. Ronald Reagan broke the mold and got his own special tag!
    • 📨 I’m more than happy to discuss any part of my identity or neurodivergence in good faith. Be warned: I am not very tolerant of questions about “how I’m even a lesbian” after a lot of harassment over it. Anything else is fair game, though. As long as you’re not obviously being a jerk.
    • 🗂️ I mostly reblog political (US, UK, Canada, and elsewhere), edu-cat-ion-al, generic, and shit-/meme- posts now. I will occasionally reblog fandom stuff, usually: Star Wars • Star TrekGravity Falls • Shoujo Kakumei Utena 😍 Tri-GunDoctor Who Supernatural 😑 • PortalPerson of InterestCritical RoleStardew ValleyTwin PeaksKnights of Guinevere
    • 🪩 I have blinkies, flashers, and buttons under a cut
    • 🧿 I do not care who is in my notes unless you start causing problems in my inbox/activity feed.
    • If you are a minor, read this post please
    • I try to avoid following teens just because I’m almost 30 and very little of any teen’s blog is relevant to me or interesting to me. And I don’t want to accidentally get in an argument with a teenager when I get heated.
    • My header comes from this image set
    • Mutuals can ask for my Signal account or the email I have for this Tumblr account (which uses this username and not any of my real name and is purely for online stuff). I check for mutuals by looking for people in my followers list on mobile (difficult and annoying), or on desktop I have XKit Rewritten which labels mutuals on your dash, too!

  • Some highlights:

    • Astrologers helped design the study
    • No one did better than random chance, even though they only included people in the study who are experienced with astrology and stated that they expect themselves to do better than random chance
    • They gave every astrologer a set of 50 things about a person and 5 birth charts to choose from. They weren’t even coming up with the chart themselves!
    • After taking the test, most thought they nailed it. Zero out of 152 did better than 5 out of 12. None nailed it
    • Astrologers who rated themselves highly experienced (“world class experts”) did the same or worse as those who said they have limited experience. Both performed the same as random chance
    • This is hilarious
  • That's got to be the funniest graph ever published in a paper

  • the thing is that every time they invent a new thing that everybody has to be able to do to get along in society, that also involves making some people disabled who weren't before, because they can't do the thing. and they never could do the thing, but it didn't used to be a disability.

driving a car. making a phone call. navigating the internet. getting a mortgage. you know? they keep adding new things that everybody has to be able to do or else there's something wrong with you. well maybe there's something wrong with driving a car. maybe it's a hideous activity. did they ever think of that

  • Man I miss free the nipple. Its getting warmer and we don’t even have free the nipple anymore

feminism has backslid so hard in recent years people don't even know what free the nipple means anymore

  • For those who genuinely don't know, "free the nipple" is about going topless. As in no clothes over the tits at all.

  • Say it with me! Wheelchairs aren’t sad! Mobility aids aren’t sad! Mobility aids are instruments of freedom!

  • Forgive me if this is inappropriate but

    So are

    • colostomy bags
    • Diapers
    • insulin pumps
    • Oxygen systems
    • Braces
    • catheters
    • rollators
    • hearing aids
    • compression garments
    • prosthetics

  • Even something as mundane as my insulin pump has immeasurably changed my life for the better.

Because I don't use long-acting insulin any more, it's much less likely that I'll go into hypoglycemia.

I don't have to keep a bag with pens, replacement needles, glucose and everything on me. When I eat, I just enter how many carbs I'm (approximately) eating. When I do sport, I just tell the pump "okay cool it with the insulin delivery" and that's it.

My insulin pump allows me to spend LESS time and mental effort on my diabetes.

  • Here's an idea about why kids are so anxious and depressed all the time...the environments kids are in most of the time are very stressful and don't fulfill their needs for play, rest, proper variety of foods, positive social opportunities, and freedom from fear pain punishment etc

  • Like everyone with any basic understanding of animal welfare knows that if you put an animal in an enclosure that is too crowded, without hiding spots, with no freedom to move around, no ability to avoid harsh and stressful stimuli, and scare it by shouting at it and punishing it, the animal will become stressed and start chewing its own fur off or hurting itself or become sick or unable to eat...

But we expect human children to grow up in these conditions and literally blame them when they develop the exact type of problems that any creature under those conditions would

  • That's how you show real solidarity!

"After they overheard that ICE was at the courthouse to arrest someone, they improperly accessed court databases to determine who was not born in the United States," a DOJ detention filing says. "They then snuck every suspected illegal alien who was at the courthouse out a back door, where ICE, who was waiting in the parking lot for their target to leave the building, could not see them."

Think about what you can do at your job or in your daily life to resist fascism when the opportunity presents itself!

  • Here is the link to contribute to their legal fund. They are facing multiple felony charges and I have no info on whether they have any community support at this time. If their actions are something you support, consider helping them out through the aftermath and investigation by the "justice" system

  • Hawaiʻi is currently in the midst of a natural disaster if you didnt know

Apparently there isn’t much news coverage of this outside of the islands

Towns are flooded, homes destroyed and collapsed, roads collapsed, lives at risk, gas leaks from the flood damage

Haleiwa and Waialua are currently evacuated because the 120 year old dam is at risk of bursting

Mind you that damn is owned by Dole. Theyve known about it needing to be fixed for years and years and years. Despite having more than enough money they refuse

The state has been trying to buy it out from them for years so they can fix it, but the sale hasn’t gone through

Keep in mind that the Dole family were the ones who illegally imprisoned Queen Liliuʻokalani and illegally overthrew the monarchy.

If I see another goddamn person say how sad this is for the tourists whose “trips were ruined” and compare a messed up vacation to people losing their homes, belongings, and livelihoods, I’m going to lose my mind

I am so lucky that my family or friend’s are safe and the few whose houses flooded didnt have it too bad, but so so so many were not as fortunate

If you haven’t heard anything about this until now, I suggest looking into it

The sirens didn’t go off until the flood had been going on for hours. Our state government is spending so much money on a fucking monorail we don’t need rather than fixing the infrastructure.

It’s been the locals and Kanaka doing the most to help get people to safety from the start

I don’t really know how to end this

I just need to know people are aware

I need to know people are seeing whats happening

  • yall are so fucking weird about gnc people. a woman wears a suit and she's "conforming to the patriarchy". a man wears a skirt and he's Secretly A Trans Egg. have you considered It's Fabric

  • You would not believe the things I have heard as a transfem butch.

  • I once said something along the lines of "why does everyone assume that every gnc cis man is an egg" and was harassed for it and sarcastically told that obviously the treatment of cis men should be our biggest concern and that I didn't know anything about egg culture (I do). You do realize that gnc people are queer too, right? You realize I can concern myself with "smaller" problems, because I love gnc people and am concerned about their well-being? You realize that telling people they must be trans because of their presentation is just as bad as telling someone must be cis for the same reasons?

I'm never going to shut up about how shitty the queer community treats gender non-conforming people, especially gender non-conforming men.

  • also the treatment of gnc cis men tells me a lot about how you'd treat gnc trans men. like, you think that if a man likes feminine clothing he's secretly a woman? do you know how many people have told me i'm not "actually trans" because i like feminine clothing? stop reinforcing gender norms i am Begging

  • Guys guys guys guys guys guys

    Aaaaaaaaaa

I am feeling so fucking emotional about the fact that not only did this guy read a huge chunk of my essay, but he spent so much time backing up what I said with video clips and photos.

I cut down the video so that Tumblr would actually post it — it's almost 25m long — but please go watch the whole thing and let him know I sent you. It's a REALLY good video.

  • I missed this event, so here's context on the swatting he mentioned early on.

The video and essay are important. Didn't want to take away from them though.

Were you bullied? did you try “just ignore them!” And did it help?

    * yes, I was bullied and ignoring them helped

    * yes I was bullied but ignoring them didn’t help

    * yes I was bullied but I never tried ignoring them

    * I was never bullied

    * see results

“Just ignore them!” Is the most common advice given to bullying victims, but many people question its actual effectiveness. OP is curious if ANYONE was ever helped by this advice (they personally were not)
