Time is the indefinite progress of events.
History
Time and its sister concept space began with the Big Bang. At some point, it became personified with the cosmic being Eternity.
Civilizations break up time into smaller units in order to denote its passage. This includes days, months, years, and others.
Time progresses in one direction. However, some have discovered a way to travel forward and backwards through it. This can cause events to be changed resulting in alternate universes.
