It became clear to Merlin that his fear of being caught doing magic only came second to camping out in the woods with Arthur.
He was roused from his thoughts by the latter’s voice.
“Merlin!”
“Yes, Arthur?”
“I saw you peeking at me while I was bathing in the river. Don’t deny it.”
Merlin’s face flushed slightly at those words. He tried to look away when suddenly he felt a hand upon his shoulder. He turned to Arthur.
“It’s okay. We’re even now.” Arthur winked.
“Thanks. Uhm. Sire.” Merlin nodded appreciatively whilst a thousand butterflies took flight inside his stomach.
