We are proud to announce that Varusteleka was nominated as a finalist for the Fighter of the Year award at the eCom Summit & Awards 2026. Spoiler alert: This time, we didn’t take home the trophy. Congrats to Stockmann for the victory! And to the other finalist, Saaren Taika! The eCom Summit & Awards—organized by Digital Commerce Finland—is the biggest digital commerce seminar and gala in the country, bringing together the top names in the industry. Being recognized among the best in Finnish e-commerce is always fantabulous! However, had there been a category for Fighter of This Decade, we would have won. The 20s have been one hell of a rollercoaster ride. We’ve fought through global pestilence, dealt with supply chains wrecked by crazy dictators and war, moved our production to Europe, and on top of everything, had to reanimate our living dead webshop back to normal life. We didn’t just survive the chaos; we adapted, dug our trenches, and kept moving forward. We might not have won the title tonight, but the fight is far from over. Thank you to Digital Commerce Finland for the nomination, thank you to our incredible crew, and most importantly, thank you to our loyal customers who keep us in the fight every single day. #Varusteleka #eComSummit2026 #DigitalCommerceFinland #FighterOfTheYear #Ecommerce #BusinessResilience #StayInTheFight #stockmann #saarentaika

Where's your military gear made? Is Temubaba really fine? Let’s talk about textiles, a blind spot in military procurement. When making military purchases, everyone fixates on guns, vehicles, and other high-tech gear, but textiles are often bought from the cheapest source. Yet they are a strategic necessity. When public procurement relies on the lowest price, European production shifts to vulnerable or potentially hostile regions. Right now, clothing production is concentrated in China. Many don’t see any problems with that, since it gives you cheap stuff. However, it also gives you problems. Here is why the origin of your gear matters: 1. Security of supply Recent years have taught us that when a global crisis strikes, countries hoard critical resources. Add our warmongering eastern neighbor, plus China that excels at hybrid warfare, and relying on faraway deliveries becomes a gamble. Security of supply means that when the world collapses, we don’t have to huddle naked in the corner and cry. Textiles play a major role in this, but unfortunately, they can be used as a weapon. China has already weaponized its export control legislation to slow or block the export of military and dual-use products. Even our camo fabrics got stuck at the Chinese customs for a long time. 2. Ethics & jobs in Europe It is also very difficult to ensure ethical production in faraway places. There are many examples of Chinese sweatshops using slave labor. And even if employees are paid, there are loads of other issues, such as child labor, workplace safety, and terrible working conditions. EU legislation gives employees a lot better rights. Of course, there are bad players here too, but they are a lot easier to spot. Furthermore, choosing to buy European products keeps the domestic industry alive, reduces unemployment, and strengthens the European economy. European production still faces challenges, such as higher costs and a shortage of textile professionals. But keeping production close means shorter transportation times, smaller warehouse deadstock, and ensures the vital expertise and scalable production capacity stay right here on the home front. The US made the wise decision long ago to require the military gear to be made domestically through strict legislation. It’s time for the EU to make a similar decision about European production. What We Are Doing About It We practice what we preach. In 2022, we launched Project MEGA to systematically bring our production back to Europe. Currently, all Varusteleka mil-spec clothes and gear are made in the EU. Whether you are an individual operator buying your own kit or a procurement officer buying for a military branch, your choice dictates our collective resilience. Choose right, buy European, and stay in the fight. #Varusteleka #SecurityOfSupply #MilSpec #MilitaryProcurement #MadeInEurope #TacticalGear

Standard jeans fail. Tactical pants stand out. Choose the third option for covert ops.  Tactical Jeans. If your pants scream concealed carry and three mags, you’ve screwed up the first rule of the Gray Man Theory: blending in. Covert operators must disappear in plain sight yet move like Chuck Norris when needed. Enter the Varusteleka Tactical Jeans. 1. Strategic Anonymity Standard field pants are mission-critical in the bush, but in a city, they scream "Operator." Conversely, off-the-shelf civilian jeans are stiff and lack the utility required for tactical operations. Our Tactical Jeans are high-performance pants disguised as ordinary denim. They allow you to match the style and tone of their surroundings while maintaining a full tactical loadout. 2. Discreet Capability: 10 pockets The Gray Man must prepare for threats without announcing them. We’ve integrated ten pockets that remain invisible when not in use: Concealed Front Utility: Beyond standard pockets, we’ve added flat pockets for pistol magazines, folding knives, or multi-tools. Hidden Rear Slash Pockets: Located behind the side seams and concealed by a yoke, these are "not there" until needed. They fit smartphones, tourniquets, or rifle magazines with ease. 3. Action Hero Mobility & Durability Ordinary jeans fail during high-intensity movement. Our jeans are built for the job: Unrestricted Movement: A 2-way stretch material and a dedicated crotch gusset allow for ninja moves and climbing—mobility unmatched by any casual jeans. Field-Tested Durability: In our stress tests, they retained their professional look even after heavy wear and repeated washing. 4. Security of Supply: Made in the EU For military and law enforcement procurement, reliability is everything. Our Tactical Jeans are made in the EU. This ensures the security of supply in case China ends up on the other team. The Bottom Line: You shouldn't have to choose between civilian appearance and operational readiness. Equip the team with gear that offers the tactical advantage of disappearing in plain sight. The bonus is that these are the most comfortable jeans for casual use, too. #CovertOps #LawEnforcement #MilitaryGear #GrayMan #TacticalJeans #Varusteleka #MadeInEU

Stop issuing tactical trash bags: Softshell is a key part of the modern soldier’s kit. A quality softshell jacket is the shit for modern military units operating outside summer temperatures. Cheap, bulky softshell jackets that breathe like a plastic bag have given this garment a bad rep. Time to forget that. Here’s why the Softshell is the MVP of military apparel outside the summer season and how we built our L3 Softshell to actually work. 1. The Lesson from Afghanistan The modern military softshell was born in 2002 out of necessity. U.S. forces in Afghanistan realized their legacy systems didn’t work in the cold mountain air. They developed the Protective Combat Uniform (PCU), with Level 5—the Softshell—serving as the cornerstone. The strategy changed from "trying to stay dry" (impossible when moving) to "getting dry as fast as possible." A proper softshell doesn't absorb water like cotton; it uses your body heat to push moisture out. 2. Why Cheap Softshells Are Garbage The market is flooded with cheap Chinese "tactical" jackets featuring an asthmatic polyester fleece glued to a thick outer shell. They don’t breathe, they’re bulky, and they suck in military use. We made one years ago, but after extensive testing and feedback, we scrapped it and made a completely different one in Europe. Our current L3 Softshell Jacket is built on these key principles: Breathability > Waterproofing: If it’s a rainstorm, wear waterproof gear. For everything else, you need a garment that moves vapor. When marching in rain gear, you aren't getting wet from the rain; you’re drowning in sweat. Self-Drying: If you get soaked, the softshell dries very quickly. Your body heat can dry it during the march. No Friction: We used raglan sleeves and moved zippers to the sides. Why? Because if you’re wearing a plate carrier or a heavy ruck, you don't want zipper pulls grinding into your chest or seams chafing your shoulders raw. Mil-Spec design: NIR-compliant fabrics, a hood that fits the helmet, and pockets that work with plate carriers. 3. Layering is a Science, Not a Suggestion A softshell is a team player. Active Combo: Pair the softshell with a Merino wool base layer. The wool wicks, the softshell breathes and blocks the wind. Halt: When movement stops, you start losing heat. Add insulation layers to trap that heat. Biblical rainstorm. Throw a rain poncho or rain anorak on top of the softshell or switch to a hardshell. 4. If so Good, Why Don’t You See Softshell as Standard Issue that often? High-quality softshells require expensive, technical materials to balance durability, stretch, and NIR compliance. It’s cheaper to issue a stiff, non-breathable shell. But "cheap" costs you performance in the field. Production in Europe is also more expensive than in China, but it also gives you much better security of supply. Bottom line: If you are moving in +10 to -10 degrees Celsius, wear a softshell. Stop sweating like a hungover walrus in your OG rain gear.

Lue uusin Fab-juttu: https://buff.ly/XPvX06I

Enforce Tac 2026: Mission Accomplished What an incredible show. We deployed a large team to Nuremberg, yet the booth stayed so crowded that we could have used a few more reinforcements. However, the energy was simply second to none! Speaking with experts across the military, police, and security sectors, one thing is clear. When the temperature drops, performance usually drops with it. And there is a growing need for gear that prevents this. That’s why our main focus was on cold-weather military clothing and gear. The Varusteleka layered clothing system is engineered for one purpose: keeping you operational when the weather is trying to kill you. A few shoutouts: - Enforce Tac Crew: Tango Mike for a fantastic event that strengthens the European security community! Can’t wait to see how the show evolves next year! - ePig Group (Enforce Tac TV): You guys are truly epic. Professional, down-to-earth experts in your craft! (Check out their video on Varusteleka in the comments section.) - P3AK Tactical: Thank you for the unwavering partner support in the trenches! - C&G Holsters: Huge thanks for flying in to showcase your top-notch holsters (that we are proud to distribute in Europe)! Last but not least, thanks to everyone who stopped by for a chat or a beer! Your feedback is what drives our R&D. Next target: Euro Target Show in Poland (27–29 March). See you there!
