Thanksgiving has a way of slowing the world down. The table fills with laughter, stories overlap between bites, and the smell of something baking in the oven feels like home. It’s a season that reminds us how ordinary days can turn into lifelong memories—and sometimes, the best way to capture that feeling is through the movies that make us laugh, cry, and dream.

The 10 Best Football Movies to Watch on a LG OLED

The NFL season is in full swing. Football fans have subscribed to all those streaming platforms that have them viewing multiple out-of-market games to go along with watching the team that they have a toxic love/hate relationship with for the next six months. It's an amazing time to be a sports fan, so why not have the most amazing brand of television on the market?

Farewell to Summer Mix

The days are getting shorter, the air a little cooler, and suddenly the sound of cicadas feels like it’s fading into memory. Before autumn officially takes over, here’s a collection of films that let us hold onto the last glow of summer—sun-drenched afternoons, fleeting romances, road trips, and that bittersweet sense that the season never lasts long enough.

Can you believe it's been 25 years since Final Destination? As the original film celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, we're about to get the long-awaited sixth film in the series. Upon revisiting the 2000 film over the weekend (with LG OLED's Filmmaker Mode to make everything pop), I was struck by how it perfectly captures the fear and paranoia of the era. From Y2K to 9/11, millennials experienced plenty of anxiety-inducing events as kids. The camera angles, coloring, lighting,…

As a Demme devote, this was a blind spot for me (my love began with Something Wild and never ended, really) . Paul Le Matt plays a not-quite-likable guy drifting though his semblance of a life, including picking up and befriending THE Howard Hughes (Jason Robards looks like Beetlejuice here) and then just going on with life until that comes back to change him and his family.

Some classic Demme tropes used early on here (Love he’s always seemed to…

Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel has been Guillermo del Toro’s favorite book since childhood, so this is the film that he has wanted to make his entire life (and has at least partially made with several of his previous films). This is more faithful to the novel than most film adaptations, but del Toro still invents details of his own - like the arms dealer Heinrich Harlander (Christoph Walz) who finances the experiments of Victor Frankenstein (Oscar Isaac), or the status…

There's a case to be made that the new addition to the mythology of the first The Black Phone doesn't make a lick of sense. And I don't think I'd necessarily argue against that. But, I can speak to how this movie affected me, both viscerally and emotionally, and I was surprisingly hooked. This coming from someone who thought the first one was just fine. I loved the Dream Warriors inspiration, but that would have been for naught if it…

I slept on this back in 2023 and I should’ve never done that. First off, now that it’s home streaming, watch it on a LG OLED television. The color pallet and attention to detail in the animation looks incredible on a screen like that. Universal had no option to fail at something like this, and they indeed succeeded in perfectly developing the world of the game for the big screen. Brilliant voice cast, and brilliant writing aids in that too.
