Silvia Laurentiz is a Professor at the School of Communications and Arts, University of São Paulo (ECA-USP), Brazil, where she teaches and conducts research on art, science, technology, artificial intelligence, digital media, and creative processes. Her work focuses on algorithmic logic, representational systems, AI-assisted creativity, art-technology relations, and transdisciplinary approaches to knowledge production.
She is the coordinator of the Realities Research Group (Grupo Realidades), dedicated to investigations in art, technology, interactive systems, data aesthetics, and emerging media. Her research has been published internationally in journals and conference proceedings including Springer, ARTECH, ACM, Arbor, and Human Systems Integration. Notable publications include Conformed Thought and the Art of Algorithms (ARTECH), Conformed Thoughts, Representational Systems, and Creative Procedures (Springer), Art-technology: contributions to future intertwining of creative actions (AHFE International), Art in the Context of Algorithmic Logic Procedures (ARBOR) and recent studies on AI algorithmic logic, representational models, and quantum-digital art aesthetics.
Laurentiz has presented artworks, installations, web art, and interactive media projects in Brazil and internationally, including ISEA, FILE Festival, ARTECH, Itaú Cultural, the Museum of the Republic (Brasília), Vienna University of Applied Arts, and exhibitions in Portugal, Colombia, Spain. Her artistic production explores the intersections of computational processes, perception, memory, data, signs and contemporary culture.
