[Spam for Idia]
[First, Xie Lian goes to find Idia. He knows there's a chance he won't be able to find him, but he refuses to believe that without proof. Besides, he doesn't think it's likely. He has faith in Idia. He's seen how much he's grown. So, he goes looking in person so he won't have to wait to hug him.]
[Separate message sent to Hakkai & Florian]
Do you have time for tea?
[Video, filtered to friends (aka basically anyone he's talked to), after other conversations]
[Xie Lian's smile is bright, but at least he's not actually glowing (anymore). He wouldn't say that he'll miss the Barge, but there are many people he will miss - both ones still here and ones gone. It's the way of the world, and he doesn't let that stop him from treasuring the time he has with people before they part ways.]
I plan on going home in a couple of days. I hope to have the chance to say farewell, first.
[Spam]
[The network can make it easier, but as he makes his last rounds of the Barge he looks for friends so he can talk in person.]

So...can I come hug you before you go?

It can feel longer when you have a reason to go home.

[And when Florian gets there, he can probably guess why Xie Lian hadn't used video. He always brightens when he sees Florian, but it's slightly more literal at the moment. His divine glow is still firmly restrained to a level where it's not so bright as to hurt anyone, but it's there.]

It doesn’t feel real. He knows he still has healing and growing to do, but he did it. They both did, him and Cater, and now they get to go home together.
Seven, he’s going to miss his people here, though.
He hears the familiar footfalls coming up behind him. Knowing he’s still far outmatched but wanting to make his teacher proud, he draws his blade and whirls in one motion, a fiercely proud grin on his lips.]

Idia has a life to live, now. As with every life, Xie Lian is sure it will come with it's share of tragedies and triumphs, both small and large. Xie Lian doesn't doubt for a moment that Idia will be able to face it.
His heart would burst with pride if he hadn't always been proud of Idia, through every step.
Xie Lian blocks Idia's sword with his (still sheathed, but that doesn't make him any less proud of his progress with swords), his smile bright with delight and love.]

You'll be missed, but I'm glad you're going home.
[ Get that honeymoon!! ]
And thank you. For being - a better face of divinity, and immortality.
Re: Filter
[He doesn't believe in lying - or in hiding that he is happy. The Barge is a crucible and a meeting place, not a home. He will miss his friends, but he likes to think of them finding - or building - their own homes once their time here is done.
He shakes his head slightly, not in denial but with a certain type of regret.] The differences between worlds means that I can't say that there aren't gods whose paths are inescapable. But I think that, more often, every day they make a choice.
It's a gift to believe that they can change. It can be easy to believe you don't have that choice when there isn't anyone who believes.

[Private Video]
[Walter says, literally slapping his knee. He's at a desk in the library's new "copier" room. Really in his element, for the video chat as well.]
But... good for you. And the boy, while we're at it.
Re: [Private Video]
[He would say it was Idia's hard work. But he smiles, rubbing the crystal ring that now hangs from a necklace instead of being hidden away.]
Ah, I am sorry for not taking part in the discussion about 'monitors'. I suspected that it would be unlikely that I'd be here by then, but I didn't want to jinx it. You're doing good work! [He still has a lot of questions about democracy, but he feels the important part is that Walter is out there trying to help.]
