Sermon Two; Backdated to Sunday
[OOC: CW: gun mentions in links]
[Video - Filtered away from Dracula because he ain’t stupid]
[John. In the chapel. Scars and tattoos visible. He’s a little more animated today, though that’s probably because he’s not just come from being a goddamn wolf.]
Those who open their eyes will see, those who listen will hear, those whose hearts are pure will be saved.
But saved from what? Traditional texts will tell us that it is Hell we should fear. But what if Hell was coming to your home? What if Hell came to you? Now I know, I know, there are some of you from worlds where that’s happened. Where there has been devastation. Or where there will be devastation.
Were you ready?
Would you be ready?
We were offered a “second chance” here. All of us - inmates and I believe wardens, too. A wish, a guiding chance to do whatever it is that you want does count as a second chance. But - [He laughs.]
There are so many things outside of our control. You could go back and watch it all go to Hell.
What then?
[He starts singing as he walks down to turn off the camera.]
[Spam]
[When John’s not in the Chapel, he’s working his custodial shifts, dutifully scrubbing the floors or mopping or sweeping. It’s not hard work, but it keeps him busy. He can often be found on the deck, smoking and sometimes singing a song or two. It's a good life, really. He stays away from most other places, save the pool and the gym, but you can always catch him in his cabin if you're looking for him.]

You're asking so many things, I hardly know where to start.

"Interesting question," he says when he knows the video isn't recording. "I didn't know we have a real minister on board."

He waits until the camera's off to speak.]
Have you ever considered traditional hymns?
Re: Chapel
[He goes instantly to sit beside him, reaching out to try and put a careful hand on his face.]
Ice will keep the bruises from staying longer.

deck!
"Evening," Hickey says, with a little nod. He goes to light his cigarette, dropping the used match off the side of the ship as it burns out. "It seem that two of us had the same idea."
Re: deck!
He blows smoke away from him and behind.
"How have you been? It's been a quiet few weeks."

Gym
Re: Gym
He's in a tank top and long pants, tattoos visible along his arms. It's mostly religious iconography, especially with the sins in Latin on his fingers, but there's also a blade, a chair with "Sit Down and We Talk," scales, planes, and SLOTH, inked in and scratched out.
"I'm always amazed at the people who are here so late," he says, sitting down nearby but not too close, taking out a bandage from his pockets to wrap his hands.

You don't have to fear Hell at all. I've lived there all my life. It's stuffy but it's not anything to be upset about if you live a good life.
