In Spanish, "la onda" means the wave but also the vibe. For us, it represents everything surfing gives beyond just riding waves: connection, progression, confidence, and the feeling you carry with you long after leaving the water.
Private lessons led by Rusdi, a Desert Point local who grew up on heavy, barrelling waves. Personal, relaxed, and built around patience, always prioritising trust, and positive energy in the water. No rush, no pressure, just good vibes.
Whether it's your first time paddling out or you're chasing heavier waves, LA ONDA CO. spans both sides of surfing. The goal remains the same, to feel connected to the ocean, enjoy the experience, and keep chasing that feeling.

Who We Are
Born and raised in Desert Point, Lombok. For Rusdi, surfing isn't something he learned, it's something that formed who he is.
Rusdi grew up surfing one of the most demanding breaks on earth. That background shaped everything about how he teaches - patient, instinctive, respectful and always reading the ocean and the person in front of him.
But ask anyone who has surfed with him and the first thing they'll tell will be about how good he made them feel. Rusdi has a happiness that's genuinely contagious, a smile that seemingly never leaves his face, and a laugh that makes it impossible not to laugh with him. Sessions with him don't feel like lessons, they feel like quality time with someone who is truly present and connected to the ocean.
Desert Point in Lombok is one of the most respected surf breaks in the world. A long, fast, hollow left-hander breaking over a shallow reef, it shaped the way Rusdi approaches surfing.
Growing up there meant constant exposure to commitment, progression, and high-level surfing. It taught him confidence in the ocean and respect for powerful waves, but just as much, it taught him the joy of sharing the ocean with others.
Sharing his home break and experiencing the stoke that comes from what, for many, becomes the best wave of their lives shaped Rusdi’s positive, encouraging approach to surfing, and it’s that same energy he brings into the water in Bali today.
LA ONDA CO. was born from a real love for surfing, ocean culture, and the feeling that keeps people coming back to the water. The excitement, progression, and positive energy shared in the ocean are what connect surfers at every level.
Focused on confidence in the ocean and creating experiences that feel genuine, LA ONDA CO. brings together both sides of surfing: relaxed first sessions and the adventurous energy that comes from Rusdi’s roots in Desert Point.
We started in Bali, with Desert Point always part of the story. Guided experiences in Lombok will come naturally as the journey grows.

First timer or experienced surfer chasing something bigger, our sessions are built for everyone who wants to feel the ocean properly.

Do I need any experience?
None at all. Rusdi has taught complete beginners to experienced surfers and adapts entirely to your level. If you've never been on a board, that's completely fine.
What's included in a lesson?
Board hire is included. We meet you at the agreed spot. No transport provided, but Rusdi will tell you exactly where to go and what to expect.
Which beach do you use?
Rusdi chooses the right spot based on conditions and your level. For beginners, usually Dreamland, Balangan, Jimbaran or Nusa Dua areas. For more advanced surfers, all options in the bukit area can be considered. We will discuss with you and confirm in advance. Last minute location changes might occur based on conditions
How far in advance should I book?
As early as you can, but we do our best for last minute requests too. WhatsApp is the fastest way to check availability.
