They came through the gate like conquerors, guns held in lazy confidence, smiles backed by controlled aggression. Not fearless, no, but unafraid. Walking into town as if they'd every right to trod the common grounds. The Mother's Mothers held quick council, granting the four traveler's rights two steps before they first breached marked ground.
The Sisters council was not amused.
Three hours later when the Mother's Mothers realized the four had nothing worth trading and the smallest one would never stop talking, they revoked the rights and set them back upon the common grounds.
The Sisters, wisely, muffled their laughter.
