Today I did something I've never done before that I always knew I would do someday: missed my exit! It's so absurd, I'm still not sure how it happened. I was going to a friend's apartment (somewhere I've been quite a few times, including just last Sunday), took note of the 1 1/2 miles till my exit sign, got over in the right lane . . . and next thing I know, I'm getting off at the exit after that one!

Anyway, after I got there, we went to see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Though it was very slow in the beginning, I think it ended up being my favorite Harry Potter movie so far.

There were some brilliant sequences in this movie--Umbridge and the beginning of her reign of terror, the DA scenes, Fred & George's exit, and the fight in the end. Luna was great. I loved seeing a little bit more of Ginny. Liked what I saw of Tonks and the other Order of the Phoenix members. And Alan Rickman does such a wonderful job of Snape.

Relationship stuff:
If I hadn't read the books, I think this movie would've made me ship Harry & Luna. They had several nice scenes together.
There were more Ron/Hermione hints than I was expecting. Gosh, I love those two.
There were even some Harry/Ginny hints! (Though I'm still hoping the actress grows up a bit more before the sixth movie. She just looks so much younger than Daniel Radcliffe right now.)

The one thing they cut that I really wish they had included was Ron & Hermione being prefects. I know it's not essential to the story, but it was so much fun and such an important character moment for Ron. I also kind of missed the Quidditch for that reason. I'm not a huge fan of it, but I loved Ron winning the Cup in the fifth book.

These movies often feel very disjointed to me. I think this is because I know what's missing. And I always want more time with all of the characters.

I loved the flashbacks. They just highlighted what am amazing accomplishment these movies are. We can literally watch Harry, Ron and Hermione grow up.
