Very fun 3D platforming challenge with a cool visual style and a neat application of the theme. I thought the challenges were tuned really well: not too easy, not too difficult. I went full-burger route, which from inspection looked like it was the harder path to take most of the time (though I could be wrong).
The graphics look really cool. My only complaint there is that sometimes I had to kind of wiggle back and forth to get a sense of the shape of a thing since they could look so different depending on the angle you're looking at. Maybe if the green lines stuck around on all of the visible faces instead of just the outline, that would help? But it wasn't too big of a deal, in that by the time I got to a platform I had usually seen it from enough angles to know what its shape was.
All-in-all, this was a really nice game, and I had fun with it. Great work!
Thank you for trying out my game! I completely agree, the shape thing should've have a better shade but I didn't have time to fix it. I'll definitely take that into consideration for future development!
I've achieved harmony and now I am stuck in this weird VR device. Can't wait for some old AI circus themed host to appear now...
But on serious note - damn, that was enjoyable! My computer wouldn't probably say the same, as it was busy flying off, but I enjoyed it a lot :D
The only thing I could potentially improve is adding a little light source to the game, so you could see the surfaces of 3D shapes slightly better. You do get known to them after playing for a moment, but at the beginning you can't tell (from certain angles at least) a cylinder from a ball D:
Overall, though? Loved the voice acting, loved the cutscenes, I had a lot of fun in this puzzle-platforming game :>
Ayyy thank you so much for playing it on your stream! I love the way you progressed through the puzzles and how you verbalize your thinking process. I definitely agree on the surfaces of the 3D shapes. Originally, I wanted to make the outlines of each objects much clearer but I didn't have time to properly implement it! But regardless, I am glad that you really liked it and I'm sorry that your computer was flying off xD.
Absolute cinema. All endings achieved. I didn't expect the cutscenes at the start or end lol.
Ayyy thanks for playing!
If a delicious sandwich is silly, I don't want to be right.
Love the intro, and the level spinning mechanic was novel. Nice work!
Unfortunately, the deliciousness is too silly for people :(
Jokes aside, thank you for trying out my game! I'm glad you liked the intro and the spinning mechanic!
I love platforming games so this was great! It was an interesting implementation of the spinning theme where you had to kinda "build your own level". I had to try a couple times each map before I realized I was building completly wrong haha. The videos of you were amazing as well, hilarous idea that I'm jealous I didn't think of . Me only complaint was that the platforms kind of blended with the chaotic 0101010101 background, so it was a little hard on the eyes, otherwise great job!!! i got ending 1/5 because I wanted all the burgers, nomnomnom
Thank you for trying it out! I'm glad that you found the game interesting! I agree with the 10101 background issue thing I didn't make this obvious enough but in the settings, there is a way to lower the brightness of the background (you can even set it to 0). Congrats on getting the silly ending xD.
That intro caught me off guard lol. Did you do the voice over with a filter, as well? Because that was a great job, if you did. I'd say the aesthetics fit the game well though the it kinda messed with my depth perception at first. I did get used to it eventually but I'm really bad at platforming so I stopped at the one with three spinners. Very serious game. Reject silliness.
Hey! Thank you for trying it out my game! Ahh you're so close! You were at the last level xD. The depth perception is definitely a common problem that I was going to fix but unfortunately didnt have time to tweak the shaders. You're also not the first one to struggle with the platforming so totally understandable! And yes its just my voice but I just edited it xD. Again, thank you for trying it out and thank you for your feedback as well!
This is such a good and serious game! I like this idea so much. The voice acting is amazing! The visuals are very cool, and it made me finally realize how silly I was... and that I need to start improving myself if I want to do something with my life.
Dang, I do appreciate you playing the game but I wasn't expecting my game would cause such an existensial crisis xD. I'm honored to have you think the voice acting was good coming from a professional voice actor such as yourself! Thanks for playing!
Wow! Live action! Very fun platformer.
Thank you for trying it out and for your comment!
Super cool! The graphics and the mechanics are very satisfying, it feels unique and thank you for letting me play!
Thank you for your kind words! I'm glad you find it satisfying! and thank YOU for giving my game a go! :D
i've been cleansed of my silly, thank you! (but hey, great little game)
yooooooo
You have chosen the path of seriousness! I'm glad that you have been cleansed! Thank you for giving the game a go and for your comment! Thank you for hosting the game jam as well and really excited to see your next video soon!
The silly virus must be contained! Cool idea and awesome intro, but the bright green ones and zeros hurt my head a bit.
Indeed it does! Thank you for trying it out! In the options menu, there is a setting to adjust the background brightness! You can even set it to 0! I hope the setting helps sorry if it was unclear on the existence of the setting.
OH I had no idea. I just kinda assumed that since this is a game jam game, that the settings would be just SFX/Music (like what many other games have) Now Im glad you actually thought of that
That's a fair assumption! I should've made a note or something for users that are sensitive to light so its mostly on me xD.
Starting your game with some live action footage is really fun and surprised me for a moment! It's a little rare to hear voice acting in jam games, but I don't know that I've ever seen live action. Big props for being willing to get silly on camera! This is a nice simple puzzle game and I really appreciated the addition of the harder burger paths.
Two pieces of feedback: The background is really cool, but after a while the bright green can be a little hard on the eyes. I love the direction, but you might be able to explore having the green be a little darker, or parts of the background fluctuate between lighter and darker green to give it some more variance.
I found you can also jump and stand on the control buttons, which let me cheese one part that I'm not sure was intended. I think you could put the interaction on one collision layer, while taking it off the layer that the player can stand on.
Awesome job, and congrats on submitting solo!
Hey! Thank you for trying out the game! I'm glad you liked the burger paths and also the videos!
There is an setting in the options menu that you can access in the main menu or when you are paused to decrease the background brightness (you can even set it to 0!). I do apologize if this was unclear that it exists!
The control being able to be jumped on top of is very interesting. It's an easy fix but having it collide with the player is currently intentional but I am curious though on which level you mentioned that you cheesed it in. Did you remember which level it was?
Again, thank you for giving my game a go and thank you for the pieces of feedback as well!
YO I GOT DA SILLY VIRUS SILLY SILLY A676767. Jokes aside though I am a SUCKER for unique perspective or mechancis puzzle game ( Viewfinder and portal 2 ARE LOVEEEEE ) and oh dude when I heard your voice with that filter, I got a ptsd of glados ( in a good way ) and man the puzzles were surprisinly hard but I kept going and well beat it! I couldve made it easier by NOT goign for the burgers but hey they silly and me silly and 67 so 67 rating for you
Ayyy I'm happy you chose the path of silly! Thank you for trying it out and for your kind comments as well! I'm glad that you liked it and you persevere through the puzzles!
Cool idea and fun platforming! I liked the fact there's multiple paths and endings! One major issue I have with the game though is the color scheme. I understand that the whole idea is your inside a simulation, but the bright green on black background really tired my eyes, and every single platform being black and having no way texture or way for me to precisely tell where ill land has only made the issue worse. I think this virtual world effect could have been pulled off with a different color palette that would have made it easier to read the environment and not be as straining.
Thank you for trying out my game! I agree with you partially, I think it's not the colour but the background. There is an options to turn down the background brightness (you can even set it to 0) but I do apologize for it being not clear that it's available. I completely agree on the texture part and that is the issue with the post processing shader which I was aware of but I couldn't fix on time. Thank you for your feedback and I'm glad you liked the multiple paths and endings!
