Oh yeah
You have earned your freedom, brother.
Definitely a good game!
The sfx and music plays really well with the gameplay
Also, the gameplay feel is well made and the controllers are responsive
So glad you liked it. I very nearly didn't add sfx at all; those were a late submission. Seems like it was worth it!
Really great game, loved the vibe, the art the sounds the progression. All round really good!
Woooooo. Thank you!
This feels pretty polished. Nothing too crazy going on here. Good vibes and good games!
I wish you good vibes and good games in return. :D
Cool game! My favorite part is mid-air kills; I would give them some more juice!
I didn’t quite understand what the comets do (the comets are blue rings on the outer orbit, right?), and the game felt on the easier side. I felt too powerful too quickly, even though my reaction isn’t great, and I had quite a lot of misses.
Visuals and audio are top-notch! And the title is super clever!
Indeed, the comets are on the outer orbit. You probably didn't notice what they did because you were too good at the game. xD They're a second currency used to unlock better upgrades, but evidently you were cruising so well, you didn't need to know hahaha.
I think I'll add different difficulties next time. Half the comments are about how the difficult and balance is perfect, and the other half is about how it's too easy. Or maybe there's no way to please the masses ha.
I would've given your game a try, but then I saw that I'd already tried it, and that was a pleasant surprise. Thank you for trying mine out!
Super slick game! The concept is very polished, and the simple visuals help to make everything clear. No real notes here, just a great, engaging game that played smoothly.
Feel free to check out my game too :)
No way!! Okay, I have to say something. I saw one of your posts in the discord about being sure to make your itch page nice and polished, and YOU were the reason I took the time to decorate my page, and you taught me that I could use a gif for my capsule image. Incredibly useful. It would be an honor to repay the favor and play your game. :)
That's so sweet!! Your page turned out great :)
One of the best games for this jam I've played so far! Everything looks very smooth, the gameplay in enjoyable and all of the audio is fitting. Great job!
That's high praise. Thank you. :) Love the screenshot too.
This is an awesome game and for having such a simple concept its got so much juice to it. Kudos to you. I hope you never stop making games!
I hope you never stop making games. :D
Awesome gem of a game. Love the visuals and audio.
The only thing I would like to see to be changed, is that the shop can be used with keyboard somehow :).
Oh no, I wonder if it was broken for you? The shop can be used with the keyboard haha. Though only arrow keys, not "w" and "s" (unfortunately).
But thank you! That means a lot.
Gonna check it out then
incredible game! it's very satisfying and relaxing
:D
What a fantastic little game, a near perfect game jam title. theme integration, concept and progression. Honestly a stand out game.
Dude, your game looks awesome too. So glad you commented. I'm gonna go give it a try now.
This game is awesome! Flying around and collecting the things is really satisfying. The upgrades are cool too :3 enjoyed it a lot! The enemies keep the game interesting and it feels great to face them with all the upgrades. I was thinking maybe there should be a small penalty for missing a click, so you're rewarded for not spam clicking (we also made an incremental, I'd be happy if you'd try it out :3)
Oh ho ho, incremental, eh? I'll definitely give that a shot.
And I probably didn't make it obvious enough, but you're penalized for missing a space hit (you can't hit space again for another 0.75s). I should fix that haha. Seriously, though, thank you so much for taking the time to write a comment!
10/10 across the board. Concept is very cool and everything was executed well. Slight frame drop when playing at higher speeds, but it's fun! (Give me 10 rings next time tho)
10/10 game, great visuals and the "core gameplay" is fantastic. Love the fact that it's not too lengthy either, I finished it in about 10 mins.
If I had to find something to complain about, it would be the lag, especially after unlocking the last ring.
Really fun game I like going super fast orbiting the core lol. Nice job :D
Super fun, I love music and visual, its very relaxing. Theme match is a 10/10 as well.
Incredibly fun, great deadmau5 vibes. very fluid gameplay and overall very well polished. GGs <3
I really enjoyed playing through your game! It's very well made and fun! The gameplay is simple but that doesn't take away from the quality, it's super polished and a fun game to play, and it fits the theme perfect. Great work!
Why, thank you! I really appreciate that.
This was fun! Sometimes things got going so fast that I think it's unrealistic to hold on to combos, but that's alright. I think as it stands right now it's a little on the easy side (I never really felt like my core was in danger), but that's not a bad thing; the graphics and music / sound effects are a real vibe, and it was nice not to be too stressed while I was appreciating the ambiance. Moving between the orbit levels and killing enemy ships on the way between those orbits was particularly satisfying.
Great work!
I'm so glad! And I agree about the difficulty, actually. Especially since I've played it myself so much. I ultimately decided on making it a little easier so it was more accessible to more people of the jam and they could have a nice, satisfying ending, but that did mean sacrificing the difficulty for players who were naturally a little better at the game (like you). How dare you be too good at the game hahaha.
Were I to extend this, I'd definitely increase the difficulty ramp. But I'm so glad you tried out my little game.
That was actually pretty fun! I really enjoyed all the visuals and all of the timing stuff. Core mechanics is such a great name too :)
I thought Core Mechanics was pretty great too. I asked my husband for a title, and it was the first thing he said. And I was like, that's 100% perfect. So here are haha.
