that was so much fun! someone on the game jam discord said this was their favourite entry and I can instantly see why. I played the hard mode and it was really satisfaying to solve the clues - and the perfect length as well. maybe I should finally give the golden ido, too?

During development, the team has this exact conversation and we came to the conclusion that the puzzle logic is correct. We debated a lot about the exact wording and visuals of the clues to ensure it can be solved logically, and ambiguities that the one you pointed out is intentional. I hope you enjoyed the game nonetheless and we’ll monitor how players feel about the clues and we can make changes if necessary.
For what it's worth I had the same problem as the OP. I looked at the calendar, thought "well, I don't see days, but most calendars I've seen start on Sunday, and went through the whole puzzle on that assumption. Took me forever to finally go back and reconsider that assumption and swap my last two names to finally make the rest of the remaining clues make sense. And then when I saw the hint from Merulon about the hint in the agenda, I went back and looked and was even more convinced I wouldn't have gotten it if I'd seen that. A New Year's Eve party on Sunday might have clued me in if I'd noticed that, but a New Year's Party? Is that a NYE party? Or a party being thrown on New Year's Day? Obviously, with the benefit of hindsight, it's the former in the context of this puzzle, but I wouldn't have assumed so.

Great game, but a suggestion.
The calender is unclear as to whether today is tuesday or wednesday. Some calenders start on sunday and some on monday, so I had to guess.

Which list? the one on the pinboard saying the 2 birthdays?
It doesnt help you figure out whos birthday it is.
