Scott, there's a Heartseeker discord server but is there an ideal place for us USR-heads to get together to discuss the game, house rules, organize game jams, etc? Now that USR has a proper license it is incredibly easy for indie folks to publish material. (Also, Discord is hardly my favorite place so it doesn't have to be there!)

I see Jay Murphy in the comments below... I know "JohnY" is still active in the wargame scene but once published a bunch of stuff on USR, and Andrew Domino is presumably out there somewhere :) Would be nice to get folks together -- if there's interest in it anyway.

I also have the desire to talk about uSR and all the little hacks we can do . So as a result I have created a Facebook group if you guys are on Facebook just click on the link it will take you to it. This is a pure fan group I have no affiliation with TDG.

I look forward to sharing ideas and Concepts and whatever with y'all.

I’m not on Facebook but I appreciate the initiative!

Unfortunately this is a level of my forum expertise LOL.

Just realized I could create a subreddit as well so if you're on the Reddit come on by.

All ready planning a space punk style game based on usr15 & using the setting inner system blues from the 24xx line of games

Looking forward to seeing what you do

Hello there! A few hours ago, I commented on this game on DriveThruRPG. It's a fine work once again, so much usability and creativity on just a handful of pages. I love the art and the page formatting, everything is perfectly legible to me, nothing confusing or easily overlooked in the rules. I was only just wondering whether a new official character sheet was in the works and would be added to this edition. I'd love to see one.

It sure is! Thanks for the kind words

Yay, thank you! That's exciting. As a long-time gamer, after more than 30 years of collecting and GMing, I still look for a character sheet first.

It's now available :)

Just rewrote Western USR into Gunslingers! All the games I have made out of your system need to be reviewed again and upgraded. Keep up the great work Scott!

Thanks and you too!

Looking forward to checking it out

I think the only issue that I've spotted in the document is you reference the use of the 12-sided die in the introduction but nowhere else in the document. Was this a typo or was there supposed to be expanded use of the D12 somewhere else.

It's just because it'll be used in certain supplements.

Ah ok

I've been a fan of your USR rPG for a very long time ever since the first edition came out and I'd loved every iteration, I just picked this up from drive-thru RPG , and this is a phenomenal rules light tool kit. I'm already coming up with some ideas for hacks to run a shadowrunesque game. Another home run.

Also as a side note I would love to see you adapt your wired neon cities to this system. I think it would work a phenomenally well.

Thank you so much. Look out for the updated USR Cyberpunk soon.

Okay I'm super stoked for that cyberpunk is my absolute favorite genre looking forward to what you to do with it.

I love USR and I love the original edition rules, so this is a welcome surprise!  I just purchased this title at "the other rpg vendor site" as I saw it there first, but figured I'd cover all my bases and make my request here too: Any chance for a singles page style layout for printing?  The landscape style is not my favorite for printing.  Having it printable as single pages would rock!  Thanks for considering!

Of course! I'll get that uploaded today :)

That's done now on both platforms

Fantastic!  Thank you Scott!  Time for me to take these 15th Anniversary rules, the USR supplement "Beyond Fear," and get my local crew together for some Lovecraftian cosmic horror mysteries and adventures!

(+2)

Yaaaay! I'm currently working on USR Fantasy. I'll be recreating USR Cyberpunk and Beyond Fear will be USR Cosmic Horror.

Ooh that is terrific!  I'll especially be on the lookout for the reanimated Beyond Fear.

Quick "rulesy" question: can Specialisms be stacked for a single dice action?  Or must only one Specialism be chosen to add to a roll?  Example: if a character has the Specialisms "computer science" and "security" - can they add both of those Specialisms to a single roll to hack a computer?  Or do they pick only one of them to add to the roll?  Another example: a character has the Specialisms "tell lies" and "disguise" - could they add both of them to a single roll to bluff past a sentry, or must they select a single Specialism ("tell lies" OR "disguise") to add to a single roll?

Thanks for any guidance you can provide!

I'm sure whatever you decide is rock-solid USR practice!

It's just a single specialism - they can't stack :)

That is probably how I would handle multiple applicable bonuses from Specialisms myself. I have done so in other games. It still makes perfect sense, and I don't think the numbers from dice rolls + bonuses would get out of hand. You could implement a house rule saying that only two of a character's Specialisms would apply to a situation, or maybe even all three.
