Dear James. What a brilliant little game. It plays very well, and the level design is perfectly matched to the player's abilities. Only problem perhaps is that it's too short. But honestly, if all games were this well made, the world would be a better place. Thanks!

Hello, in one of my last issues of Retro News Flash, I covered the game Duckling Rescue and ran a short report on it. It´s a really great game, I really liked it. All the best from Magisthan´s Spielekiste. 🙂

Thanks for reviewing my little game :)

This plays smoother than most c64 games I've played! Nice work, it looks great and is so charming. I got all the ducklings.

Thanks! It helps that there is no scrolling. Gotta start small, right?

Nice and cute game. I added it to my video along with other games released in June.

Very cool! Thanks :)

Very nice game! We just played it through with my sons three times, we had fun! I hope there is plan to add more levels, and maybe make the music a little bit better :)

Looking forward to future updates and games!

Thanks for playing! Still a little way off but I'm working on adding more levels/music.

Whats new in version 1.0.1? ;-)

A couple of small bug fixes, itch.io went down last night before I could post the notes!

Okidoki, thank you :-).

so cute and comforting! thank you for making this

Nice but unfortunately too short ;)

A fun but short game with a few tweaks 😉

It clearly deserves to be expanded 😉 Keep working on it, my friend, because this game has potential ✌️

Hey! buen juego! es tu primer juego para C64?

Si :)

Un juego muy simpático, yo lo pondría en el tipo de juego ideal para niños pequeños.

Muy bueno por ser el primero, ¿¿de donde eres??

ive loaded it into my c64 just so you know the music is very slow (compared to the video) to there are notes missing?

The music is supposed to be slow (was going for a chill vibe), I’d check out some of the videos folks have uploaded, if it matches that then you’re getting the intended experience. If it bothers you, you can turn the music off in the pause menu.

I matched it to the video but it's not the same which is why im letting you know! great game though im enjoying it!

very good

Wonderful littl' title! Thanks for sharing it with us :-). (Next time, try to avoid LLM/AI ;-)).

Nothing to say against LLM/AI for learning, but final job should be done by own hand.

Cool stuff,  sorry for the delay was waiting on Saberman's video :)  https://www.indieretronews.com/2026/06/duckling-rescue-family-friendly.html

Great little game with lovely graphics, good gameplay concept (collect items, to jump higher and reach paths, that are otherwise inaccessible) and really cute sprites. I enjoyed playing it. The only problem was, that I finished it in 15 minutes, because it's very easy. The same game again, with much larger levels and some more difficult opponents, would be a great idea for a sequel, "Duckling Rescue 2".

Cute little first timer.

A nice flip screen platform game. I am happy that there is an options screen to disable the music as it is very short, although sweet and suits this game it is repetitive. The game has nice graphics and the gameplay is good for a casual take your time/no lives game. If this is your very first ever C64 game. Well done. I look forward to seeing future productions by you. Consider a follow from me :)

Thanks so much for testing out my game! The music was probably the hardest part for me. I tried to make my own but it sounded pretty bad so I took the melody from a public domain nursery rhyme (five little ducks), the cave level is actually a French nursery rhyme (la semaine des canards). I’ll consider longer music for an update or my next game.

i finished it on my c64u starlight..very nice little game!

hi will it run on a real c64?

Yes, you can download the .PRG file.

that's awesome I will try it

I got it to work!
