A ton of fun. The story is intriguing, and I love the loop mechanic.
I ended up buying a copy, but importing from the web version says that I didn't complete searching the mining wing. I definitely did, but it still wants me to dig through the obelisk again. Not game-breaking, just annoying.
From what I can see, it's only a visual bug, but the bonus from familiarity shows a different number for the rover power cell remove. The empty shows a higher number, while the full is less, the actual time that it takes is the same. It's only when you are outside, and my napkin math says that the full power cell is the one showing the wrong number.
I really enjoyed this game before the reset of the Laurion mining wing progress. I've played a few times since and find it impossible to make progress in the Laurion mining wing or travel to Strabos because it seems all of my prior progress has been wiped in these areas. It was a mistake to remove prior progress; if I wanted to start over to experience the new plotline, I could start a new save.
Assuming you're playing v0.6.1.16, and depending how exactly you're struggling to make progress in the mining wing, you may have been suffering from the bug fixed by .17.
Unfortunately, it wasn't really practical to carry over progress from the old obelisk, since it leads to new content in most of the existing facilities, much of which will continue to be relevant into new facilities. So if players weren't sent through the new content, they'd be lost and confused when it came to using that content in future.
The mining wing is the only location that progress was wiped though. Nothing in Strabo or any other facility was affected.
I've not had reports of anyone else having this kind of issue. Please can you export your save and send it either via the discord server (link in the game's description) or a pastebin type website?
Because different artifacts work differently. The life artifact was a single piece which was split apart, while the others were intended to function individually.
time dialation only applies to actions that you have done a LOT (like grabbing food and water etc) or extremely long actions (over 5 min in time, in which case dialation brings it to 5 min)
Alternatively, I wonder if we could have the option to script a "runbook" that replays. Instead of me clicking waiting, clicking waiting, to repeat a process to prepare for the next phase, instead I just configure a process then let it run in the background? Just an idea
could we have an option to find shelter *before* a sandstorm starts hitting? Maybe after like a few loops of doing it? I dunno, I know it'd probably ruin the whole point of it but just wanted to inquire
I like the organization of actions, but the action indicators were more understandable in 0.5, or add an option to change the icons, aswell as add or remove the resource pool 25% indicator.
It unlocks certain actions (usually allowing you to do things for farther away) and doubles the speed of actions which require a transceiver (following and detecting signals). It's purely optional, but does make some parts of the game considerably faster.
Yes, several. The first ones, which I'm sure you've encountered, are the ones that make it at all, so you don't have to replace your suits oxygen all the time, and the one that automates it. Then there is an artifact that gives you more resources for everything, including when you replace oxygen in the rover. Last is from the latest update. Not going to spoil exactly how, but it will remove the extra losses of air in the rover.
I found a glitch, where the game thinks the motors are the full propeller when you are doing the move motors through portal action making it always impossible
Is there a Power Coupler that I'm missing, or is the Cell Charger a bit of a trap right now if I'm going for the VTOL? I figured, after going through both Strabo and Pneuma, that I'd have everything I needed, but the Cell Charger ate the last Power Coupler that I needed to repair it.
If not, a way to disassemble the Charger would be nice.
yeah if you use the solar panels in 0.6.0.33, you can disconnect the solar panel coupler, and use it elsewhere. or you can just get a cell charger from astrape instead, which is what I do
oh, interesting! I had missed that. Not that I got much out of it the one loop I went to check it out, lol. Managed to get 6 rounds out if it before I croaked, how many have you done?
I've got the machine prepped and ready to go for the next update! It is quite a project to fix it up, feels good to be able to.. test it the first thing I do once the update is here! Just got to wait half a year or so..
I must be stupid cause every time I try to leave the station I die on the last seconds of the journey because even though I grab max of everything I can I cant seem to make it
The game suggests that you could put one half of the power artifact in the crashed plane to teleport the propeller over, but afaik there's no power in the plane to use?
The VTOL has an internal generator, but it has no fuel to run with. If you provide fuel it will have power. Also I believe you meant the portal artifact, not the power artifact.
I really love this game. I love the simple design, the way the incremental gameplay works and most of all the thrilling story in this sci-fi setting. I bought the game on itch and on steam. Big Thanks to the author for this fantastic game.
1st attempt: I managed to get to the other side of the river on loop 7, but not enough gas to get up the hill.. so I stopped there, had a picnic for a nice first view. Am absolutely sure loop 7 is possible, but maybe as early as loop 5 if perfectly optimized?
Was a few minutes too late to cross the river on loop 5, but I feel as if my guess is correct - I messed around a bit too much on loop 4, and believe those missing minutes could be won there. I do not believe loop 4 is possible at all.
Lol, this got me going on trying to optimize the whole game. I am not doing perfect, but I believe I am doing fairly good. I did manage to get Santoblasted on loop 5, and am currently just starting loop 9 with Santorini about half done and almost through the third layer in Laurion.
tldr: Description of loops 6-8 and thoughts about what next.
Loop 6 was all about getting the shortcut to the dam and getting all the way to Santorini without running out of power or water, loop 7 much the same and prepping some blue actions. Could optimize them more, but diminishing returns.. I didn't really see any major reason for trying yet again.
Loop 8, the shortcut was prepped enough to go directly, get two boxes, continue. Do a bunch of blue actions, get the suit, the fuel, the speed filter, and the solar power tech. Return through shortcut to Talos, because that requires way less power than it would going straight to Laurion. Pit stop, get solar going to get the last few points of power needed to go through the tunnel to Laurion. In Laurion, just install the generator and sped up water filter, get all the remaining blues, then drill baby drill!
Plan for 9 is much the same as 8, but maybe get three boxes this time. Could go for Astrape after Santorini instead of Laurion, or maybe Pneuma. That would adhere to Shadowsand's plan of making it more difficult to drill but with more stuff that can make it easier spread out in the different locations, and I'm currently done with blues in Laurion. Since I will need to return to research places later anyway, maybe I'll save the drilling for those instances instead. On the other hand, doing those trips without that artifact support is not quite optimal.
I went all in on skipping the artifact in Laurion (for now, at least), and instead, based on my optimized santoblast loop 5-save went for Astrape instead. And man, are there many ways to play this! I do not know how far off a "perfect" run I am, but I suspect it it possible to clear Astrape (excluding the aircraft obv, but including all blue actions) by the end of loop 10. I did not manage that, but I did manage to find the faster path through the highlands, get the artifact, and even quite a few blue actions that are not requisites for getting resources or the artifact by the end of loop 10. Most admin and civilian blue actions are left though. I'm done there. The first loop I got to Astrape was loop 8 - loop 6 and 7 was pretty much the same as previously, just optimized for getting to Astrape instead of going back to Laurion. Key for 6 is to get to Laurion and get water and fuel, for 7 just fuel.
This took so many attempts and re-attempts and sheesh. Just getting the most out of everything but still getting away from Santorini in time in pretty much every loop, one way or another. Especially annoying when trying to get to Santorini and back with the tram in as early a loop as possible! I still have a bunch of blue actions in Santorini because doing them would delay solving Astrape! I suppose, though, that now that Astrape is stable I could park the rover in Santorini, take the tram and do all the blue actions in Astrape, get back, do all-or-most blue actions in Santorini, then start heading for.. I dunno.. Pneuma?
I'd be happy to get some input, what should I go for now? I'll probably take a break and start enjoying summer a bit more now though, lol
Absolutely stellar game. Going through, solving puzzles, optimising routes, getting faster was all incredible. Played through all the current content on Itch in just a few days from how glued I was to the game and bought the game on Steam afterwards. Will replay on there once the next facility drops!
When I reloaded the Steam version for the April updates (yeah, I'm just catching up), I noticed that I can't unblock the tram from Santorini anymore, despite having gotten the codes on a previous run. I proceeded to return to Astrape to see if there was anything new in that regard, but I couldn't find anything:
In order to preserve the puzzle of getting to the plateau for the first time, you can no longer remotely unblock the tram until you've gone to Astrape, unblocked it there and reached the plateau. There's a new blue action there which unlocks remote unblocking.
Same problem in my game, even after I traveled to the Plateau via the tram, did the blue thing that lets me fake a signal from the tram or whatever it's supposed to do. That option is now gone and I am still unable to remotely access the tram from Santorini.
can you possibly add a way to download or listen to the game's soundtrack, i would love to be able listen to santorini, and astrape's tracks, even the simple outside track is amazing.
Fortunately for you there already is! You can export it as a text string and paste that string into a text file. Whenever you want to import the save you just copy it back from the file and paste it into the ‘import’ menu.
If you’d like earlier access to some of the content you can join the discord and apply to be a beta tester whenever the next round of applications opens up!
I saw that your game was on steam for just 6 dollars. I immediately got I can't wait to see whats been changed since the steam update! This really is the best idle game ive ever played it just does such a good job at differentiating itself in the genre and the gameplay is very enjoyable.
Unfortunately, so long as you play the web version, that's entirely down to the browser and your device. I recommend either manually exporting/downloading your save using the options provided, or playing the desktop version of the game. Also, if you'd like a head start on a new game, there's a save-bank channel with a variety of saves at different points in the game.
I see, thanks for the reply. I have browser cookies intentionally limited so that makes a lot of sense. I assumed it saved to the itch account for some reason. I'll probably download the game for the future. I have been really enjoying it!
No problem. Sadly, Itch doesn't have any cloud saves/method of saving data to your account, so all Itch games will be using some variation of cookies/browser storage etc.
I’m gonna be honest, I tried unlimiting browser cookies and I still lost save data, it seems to be more a problem of how itch handles it than just how the cookies are stored.
I believe the itch.io app is rather parsimonious with it's cookies, so most of the web versions of games you play through the app will not do a good job of saving data in cookies... can't confirm but I don't have any problems using it to install web games and then losing data so I'd recommend doing that! (They're usually pretty small after all!)
Like Shadowsand said, the web version relies on temporary cookies so it can’t save you progress over long periods. I have a Google Drive folder dedicated to the game at this point.
why does the option to find a route from talos directly to the dam even exist if it is literally impossible?
the fastest it can get is 3m20s without having the task completed before. which is 200s. with the 2power/s consumption it would need the entire 400 power your rover has at the start. but you already lose some power from leaving talos with the rover. so you never have the energy necessary to finish the travel to the dam from talos.
It's not impossible. The rover can be upgraded with more power cells/solar after some progression and, as you said, it's 3m20s without the task being completed; partial completions speed that up too.
yeah the laurion fuel cells are how i did it. didn't come to mind at first that i could just get all the laurion stuff done then drive BACK to talos and drive to the dam that way. now driving back to talos and from there to the dam is faster for me than drive to the dam from laurion directly. also uses less energy.
concept for the main game: maybe an artefact/upgrade that allows you to make your own combined tasks? call it a 'routine' maybe? i get if that's *too* much automation, but i think it would be cool, especially late game when you're pretty much bee-lining to one far off zone to explore
While that would be absolutely amazing, this has already been brought up on the discord and unfortunately Shadowsand has already said that it is something he will work towards eventually but it is a very low priority compared to mainline content and because of the complexity in setting it up.
Join the discord at https://discord.gg/nMqMxKw6Y5 so you can look at all the suggestions which have already been made and contribute to the discussion!

Was the free version of the game supposed to be completely removed from the downloads?
Nope. Apologies - I'm not a fan of Itch's upload/file management UI, and occasionally either forget a step or do the wrong thing. Added them back.
Understandable, have a nice day~
I really enjoyed this game before the reset of the Laurion mining wing progress. Do you have power?
Yes!

sorry, it may be because i got the versions mixed up. I'm on the free version.
You may have been suffering from the action completion bug which has now been fixed in .17.
why can we bind with pieces of the matter artifact and halfs of the portal artifact but not pieces of the life artifact
Because different artifacts work differently. The life artifact was a single piece which was split apart, while the others were intended to function individually.
Is it possible to add a modifier to change the time speed? I want to play the story but not wait around too much for actions to complete.
no, if you want the story, you have to wait. But there is a feature known as time dilation.
time dialation only applies to actions that you have done a LOT (like grabbing food and water etc) or extremely long actions (over 5 min in time, in which case dialation brings it to 5 min)
Alternatively, I wonder if we could have the option to script a "runbook" that replays. Instead of me clicking waiting, clicking waiting, to repeat a process to prepare for the next phase, instead I just configure a process then let it run in the background? Just an idea
My thoughts of that and a number of other things relating to automation are on the "Maybe someday" part of the roadmap: https://trello.com/c/VuYstcev
Technically there is by becoming a tester.
could we have an option to find shelter *before* a sandstorm starts hitting? Maybe after like a few loops of doing it? I dunno, I know it'd probably ruin the whole point of it but just wanted to inquire
you can, as long as you know of a sandstorm
once you have done it a few times you should have the familiarity to be safe no matter what.
I can't get food fast enough too force the door. I died
where can't you force the door?
Like at the start when you discover the first door
You're not supposed to force that door. That action only exists to teach players not to blindly attempt every action.
I like the organization of actions, but the action indicators were more understandable in 0.5, or add an option to change the icons, aswell as add or remove the resource pool 25% indicator.
I'm not sure what you mean by the "action indicators"?
The buttons on the far right used to start an action or add it to the queue.
Hey, I'm helpless so I need to ask for more help lol. What does the transmitter do to the rover?
It unlocks certain actions (usually allowing you to do things for farther away) and doubles the speed of actions which require a transceiver (following and detecting signals). It's purely optional, but does make some parts of the game considerably faster.
it allows for certain actions, like lift lockdown, and gives a 2x boost, to other certain actions, like find hangar.
Is there a way to increase air efficiency in the rover?
Yes, several. The first ones, which I'm sure you've encountered, are the ones that make it at all, so you don't have to replace your suits oxygen all the time, and the one that automates it. Not going to spoil exactly how, but it will remove the extra losses of air in the rover.
I was trying to locate the Explore Crater action in Santorini, but I couldn't seem to find it. It's the only one I'm missing.
1 don't bother, it isn't counted in the persistent action percentage, 2 if you are anyways get the climbing gear from pneuma, 3 repeat until done
You have to get the climbing gear from Pneuma, then drive to the crater after Santorini is destroyed.
I found a glitch, where the game thinks the motors are the full propeller when you are doing the move motors through portal action making it always impossible
Fixed for vNext, hopefully releasing in a few hours. Thanks for the report!
Is fixing the Rover's hull leak bound (the one requiring 2 Metal Sheets) to only Talos?
Is there something i missed? (I have 98% persistant tasks complete, working out all the Pneuma content)
it seems so, I can't find the action elsewhere.
Currently yes. This will be fixed in future.
Once you have over 97% completion, you should see a button below the percentage which let's you see what actions you've missed.
I have completed all persistent actions now, yes i was aware of that tab, i am grateful of that feature as it saves me from going crazy.
Glad to see that fixing the microscopic holes action will be available for the rest of the locations
Is there a Power Coupler that I'm missing, or is the Cell Charger a bit of a trap right now if I'm going for the VTOL? I figured, after going through both Strabo and Pneuma, that I'd have everything I needed, but the Cell Charger ate the last Power Coupler that I needed to repair it.

yeah if you use the solar panels in 0.6.0.33, you can disconnect the solar panel coupler, and use it elsewhere. or you can just get a cell charger from astrape instead, which is what I do
We need more games like this! The whole way the game plays(the overall gameplay, not explicitly the time loop stuff) is so fun!
How do you survive the trip in the rover? I keep ending up with like just under 2 minutes of supplies lol
Ohh okay, you can loop once you die lol
is there a limit to the explore crater action or is it infinite?
oh, interesting!
Just got to wait half a year or so..
is the life artifact fully implemented because once I get to the underground lake in pneuma I don't have any other options left
you need to leave the truck after traveling to each of the areas
what do you mean once I got to the undergrounds reservoir and did all the things their is no more option but to go back to pneuma
edit: nvmd I'm dumb
im stuck on the life artefact its saying i need to be in the med/sci area when i toggle the quarantine and i am unsure how to do that
you need to toggle the quarintine multiple times
Bro, I read too fast. And Astrape really doesn't sound normal.
Am I insane?? Am I the only one noticing how it sounds????
It's a greek word, all of them are
Doesn't help the situation!
You might want to try to sound it different? I'm sounding Astrape as AS-tra-PE, no silent letters.
Sounds weird? So "grape", "scrape" are also weird?
What are you on?
No? They don't sound weird, and I do not believe I even insinuated that
He means that all 3 rhyme with each other using the -rape suffix.
I must be stupid cause every time I try to leave the station I die on the last seconds of the journey because even though I grab max of everything I can I cant seem to make it
I am indeed stupid and didnt read ahead realize you could loop
The game suggests that you could put one half of the power artifact in the crashed plane to teleport the propeller over, but afaik there's no power in the plane to use?
The VTOL has an internal generator, but it has no fuel to run with. If you provide fuel it will have power. Also I believe you meant the portal artifact, not the power artifact.
The game suggests that the propeller could fit through the portal. It makes no mention of where you might want the portal to be.
Jusy noticed funny statictics bug: if you die running out of more than one resource at exact same moment, it will add 1 point to each reason of death.

Santoblasted at loop 8. Can you beat that? =)

Just saying, gotta respect the dedication. This game can def be addictive. I haven't played in a couple months.

Nevermind. There were additional steps required. Either I didn't read, or at least 2 of the steps don't imply further action is necessary.
I think that may be one of the issues which v0.6 fixes - the tram didn't have great messages if you did things in unexpected orders.
can you possibly add a way to download or listen to the game's soundtrack, i would love to be able listen to santorini, and astrape's tracks, even the simple outside track is amazing.
I like it, cant wait for it to be finished, though would like if there was a way to export saves

Finally finished it again. I finally got the Strabo artifact, both halves. Pretty good content update though. Still want more tho :(
The next update, which introduces Penuma, is already in its testing phase and being worked on!
If you’d like earlier access to some of the content you can join the discord and apply to be a beta tester whenever the next round of applications opens up!
Okay, yay :D
I'll join the discord for it when I get home :)

why does the option to find a route from talos directly to the dam even exist if it is literally impossible?
the fastest it can get is 3m20s without having the task completed before. which is 200s. with the 2power/s consumption it would need the entire 400 power your rover has at the start. but you already lose some power from leaving talos with the rover. so you never have the energy necessary to finish the travel to the dam from talos.
It's not impossible. The rover can be upgraded with more power cells/solar after some progression and, as you said, it's 3m20s without the task being completed; partial completions speed that up too.
You can cross travel that using the fuel cells from Laurion with the Mobile generator or using power-gen items unlocked at Santorini
yeah the laurion fuel cells are how i did it. didn't come to mind at first that i could just get all the laurion stuff done then drive BACK to talos and drive to the dam that way. now driving back to talos and from there to the dam is faster for me than drive to the dam from laurion directly. also uses less energy.
That’s exactly why it’s there. It’s also basically the only way you can get to Santo with time to spare
Please add an option to toggle pressure regulator, it makes the Astrape facility way harder than it needs to be. By harder I mean wasted time.
just bring the rover inside or smth. It works out when I play Astrape.
concept for the main game: maybe an artefact/upgrade that allows you to make your own combined tasks? call it a 'routine' maybe? i get if that's *too* much automation, but i think it would be cool, especially late game when you're pretty much bee-lining to one far off zone to explore
While that would be absolutely amazing, this has already been brought up on the discord and unfortunately Shadowsand has already said that it is something he will work towards eventually but it is a very low priority compared to mainline content and because of the complexity in setting it up.
