That is a super take on chess. Well done.

wow what a cool take on chess. This was a lot of fun and quite challenging at points too. I loved how it was all put together - it looked and sounded so good and everything felt juicy in just the right way. Great job.

I am not quite sure how I can relate this to the theme, but I had fun playing the game. Nice design and a good way to play chess differently. Congrats on the entry!

Nicely done! I love chess so it was a really fun experience playing with a unique twist to a classic game.

nice work there!

I love Chess.  Great work on a different way of playing the classic game.

I used to think I was a good chess player :D It turned out to be a really fun game to play. It took me a few minutes to fully understand what I was supposed to do, but once I got it, I really enjoyed it. It feels like a complete game in every sense. The scope is perfect for a jam, and most importantly, it’s fun. Thanks for sharing!

Very nice. It’s always amazing when somebody take a game like chess (that many think is boring) and make it more enjoyable. Great work!

This is super cool, good job!

This is such a fun idea for a chess based game! I love it! I have replayed it 4 times to try and create whacky combos that I didn't manage to get before.

nice one. I'd add hover over info what pieces can do in a visual way

Very polished game! Look great play wonderfully. My only complaint is you didn't implement en passant. Really fun take on a chess game for this jam.

that was awesome, i played like 4 times. combining the pieces is fantastic.  only notes would be a way to see how the enemies can move. love to see more levels and more in general. two thumbs way up!

Very polished, love the graphics and the UI's .

this feels remarkably finished for a jam project .. really well done.. not quite the kind of game I'd buy, but I think that's mostly the visuals, not the gameplay

This was pretty fun! I am a sucker for most grid type games. Absorbing the enemy pieces to create the ultimate piece was so fun for me. You have the ultimate Piece that tramples the entire board in all directions. That was crazy in terms of playing chess. It was very entertaining. At first it was confusing figuring out which piece was what, but you realize after some trial and error how to tell them apart and what their combinations represented as far as their movement capabilities. I would think that anyone that does not know how or has never played chess, would grasp these concepts easily. But I could be wrong.

I liked the design of the pieces (regardless if they were AI generated). They have an interesting style, and unexpectedly so when you fuse the pieces together, what the different combinations look like. That was worth to see on its own, the evolutionary visual style of the pieces as they absorb powers. Felt like when you evolve your unit's class in a tactical grid based RPG.

This game has a lot of potential to build on, into something longer and even more engaging than it already is (because it was too short and just enough to get the execution and gameplay loop across). I would have appreciated a different sound design though. The music didn't feel like it matched the visual style, like it needed a fantasy style orchestral or ambient tune. It would have gone a far way if moving the pieces, capturing other pieces, and yours being captured have different sound effects with a feeling of weight behind them. Other than that, I really enjoyed this game   :D

Really clean and fun gameplay

Felt like what Balatro is to poker, to chess.  I could see myself sinking hours into this game, and staying up too late.

I think the sound effects need an overhaul, but other than that, everything felt really good.

This was a lot of fun and the polish on this was great. It was so much fun that I came back and played it again
