At first i tought i was a proper farmer simulator, but the story is engaging! Unfortunately i am stuck because i cannot combine different items and don't know how to create the biofuel. It told me when I took the can but i forgot and don't know where the recipe is.
For the UI, the idea to use keyboards, arrows and 2 different action buttons is a bit complicated for the user.
That's the unexpected turn I'm going for with the farm sim presentation!
Sorry to hear you got stuck on the item system. A few people have been tripped up on that. I ran out of time to implement a controls page in the game, so it's really not clear how it works. I'll add a note to the game page about this.
The inventory can be opened and closed by pressing i on your keyboard. Inventory navigation is done with the arrow keys. If you view the jerry can in your inventory, you can read the recipe again. Combining items is done by selecting two items with interact button (e on keyboard).

I love what you did with the jam theme!
The actual timer doesn't seem to be implemented properly. After being served an eviction notice, the same conversation repeats at the start of the day and the game continues past where the second deadline should be.
When you interact with the field in your farm, the game provides some helpful instructions including a mention that you can combine two items by selecting them at the same time, but it doesn't say how to do so. The game page explains that you can open your inventory by pressing "i", but once you start the game it blocks out the rest of the game page in a way that doesn't seem to be reversible like normal full-screen mode, and that information doesn't seem to available anywhere in-game. This led to me being stuck on the simple task of mixing wood ash with water to make lye for a very long time.

Yes, currently there is no consequence for missing the deadline. I just ran out of time to implement that. Once the voting period is over I will update it.
I also ran out of time to implement a controls page in the game menu. I can see how you would get stuck, not knowing how to use the inventory system / combining items. That's frustrating, sorry about that!
I appreciate the feedback about the full-screening behaviour making that difficult to refer to controls on the game page when playing.
Beautiful illustrations and a very engaging story! I am dying to know what happens at the end but I am stuck on getting two of the samples - clay and silt. Can I get a tiny hint, please? :)))
Hey, thanks for checking it out! Elina says silt is found in river beds and clay "quite deep". You won't be able to get these at first. For a hint, look at the ute/truck and jerry can again, and talk to the kid by the fountain.
