This was a really cool idea, great execution. I love the opening showdown cutscene, brilliant. Great job by the team, well done!
Very fun game! I loved the intro cutscene - very polished and premium looking; kinda reminded me of OG Wii games. I did get softlocked when ai took all ingredients and the Confirm button was greyed out, but other than that I was engaged and won after several rounds!
Really solid game! I liked the potion options and having to choose ingredients each round, but I felt that it was kinda slow, it took me about 20 rounds to beat the enemy and it would be great to have a way of speeding up the rounds
i like the concept! I had fun but eventually hit an equilibrium with the enemy since heals and attacks both do 20 HP we just kind of went on forever. around round 30 the game bugged out and the continue button stopped working. Id love to see more potions, the grape potion was fun to strategize around
Yeah, we'll have to look into balancing it a bit. The take all continue bug is a known issue as well. Thanks for playing!
The game was fun! It was simple to learn and had some real strategy to consider. Unfortunately I lost haha
For a gamejam, the visuals are very good and polished (the game overall is also just very polished honestly). Very cool concept of having to choose the ingredients and stuff. I honestly see a lot of potential in this game, great job!
Super cool idea, it reminded me a lot of old games I used to play. I lost because the enemy kept stealing the ingredients every time but I loved every second of it!
Nice work, it was a lot of fun to try to beat the enemy. I would agree with stanley, that a fourth potion would help, especialy since the green ingredient is not used much.
Great game! only being able to brew three potions is a bit of a bummer maybe a fourth one like a shield would be cool
it's funny because originally there was a fourth potion, and it was a shield ! But it didn't play well with the rest of the game and the other potions, so we got rid of it. Thanks for playing !
Dueling potions is a cool idea and I like the idea of needing to draw from a shared resource pool! Like someone else said, I think there may be too many grapes since my fight turned into a take all stalemate for 10 rounds but I eventually got enough fruits to win. I like the concept a lot though! Having cutscenes is always impressive to see in jams especially when there are multiple angles and cuts!
I did find at one point the continue button got unselected somehow and couldn't be clicked. If it happens to anyone else, you can use tab and enter to get back to it. Still, an awesome submission!
Ngl I wish I could say the cutscenes were my doing, as I love messing with that sort of thing. The programmers beat me to it!
The continue deselect issue is known.
Anyway, glad you liked the idea, and thanks for checking it out!
Agreed on the comments about the atmosphere and vibe, it was so great. I can see the vision and I think with some more options you could have some super interesting gameplay. It was a bit of a grind but I was pretty happy when I took out the opposing NPC.
Yeah, if a 1.1 or 2.0 happens, more recipes is definitely on the todo list.
loved the atmosphere! the lighting and textures really come together to give this nice medieval/alchemy/tavern look
the idea is also super neat, though I'd wish for a few more combinations. The NPC was quite good lol, I felt like it was hard to outplay him and had to rely on getting lucky with my draws
Really interesting concept. I'd really like to see more of this idea. In my match, we reached a stalemate where no one could stick damage and we were alternating taking all ingredients.
Yeah, take all is a bit busted. I would be tempted to continue work on this, or even just fork it in the future, but right now I just need a break.
I feel you on that break. It's always a crunch right at the end. Hope it was a fun jam for you!
Great game! The NPC is a challenge
Cool game!
It’s a pity there aren’t more combinations.
Thanks! Glad you liked it! We had 5 recipes planned as a part of our MVP, but due to scope only 3 got implemented.
