This is genuinely one of the most disturbing games I've ever played. The story was very good especially the end when I kind of figured out what was going on. I had goosebumps playing this. The sound effects, the ambience of each room was amazing. The ending shocked me because what the actual heck man. This deserves to be as popular as it is. Keep up the good work.

Whatever you do, DO NOT save her.

This was absolutely disturbing! I did not know where this was going haha. I loved the atmosphere, and the visuals. I liked there was also puzzles too. I loved the eerie elements and I loved that there was only 1 jumpscare. It was mostly intense atmosphere with a disturbing story!
I look forward to more games! Here is my video!

phenomenal game! the atmosphere, everything about it was top notch. it feels hard to get scared these days but this one got me. amazing work. 3rd game in my video :) any support would mean a lot!

AMAZING loved every unsettling second of it! (Just like the Butterfly super well made).

I can not WAIT for your next game!

Brilliant game, down to the aspect ratio use and story. 10/10 for its style :)

I've played this and Butterfly. The symbolism the creator uses in the game is extraordinary. Please make more

very nice game

Comments below clip:

A dark and dreary game that grabs the gamer by the throat and won't let go until the very, bitter end.

Although I'm widely known as an optimistic guy that always looks at the sunny side of everything, I'm also aware of the fact that not everybody is like that [or me].

I really liked the way this game/story unfolds, as it forces the player to look at life, not through the safety of his/her own eyes, but through the darkened lenses of despair.

I didn’t run into any bugs, hiccups or other snags, so kudos to all involved in making this awesome game! Well done!

P.S. I cut the game up in 3 parts, but will only upload the first one.

Really enjoyed this game

Very cool. I like when endings recontextualize the entire story. very nice and yummy

It has been a long time since I felt such a range of emotions from a game; the game opens up a vast space for emotions, and the sound design is simply unparalleled

I love this one great game W

Amazing game

I love how, as you continue, you start to question whether you're actually the good guy in this story. Perfectly uncomfortable

Game of the year

Cool game, really disturbing theme :)

animals are revolting in this game!!

The aspect ratio changing every act is brilliant! Amazing story and game design. Jump scares are also effective. Such a great game!

That one was definitely a doozy.. Fun game!

Very interesting horror plot.

Coming from the dev of Butterfly I expected nothing less than an uncomfortable experience from start to finish, and that's what I got!

Super messed up game, but honestly really well executed.

Some great jumpscares as well!

what the fuck...

uh.... 10/10... i guess.....

Amazing game. The ending was quite disturbing but it had a good story to it.

This game was amazing but god damn it gave me the creeps the whole time and you felt gross as you played. Still loved it! Awesome job!

this game so much fun to play here is my gameplay please feel free to give me a like and follow if you enjoyed :3

This game was soo good. The scenes in this game was awesome! :D

Playthough:

Absolutely loved it! The ambience, the sounds (this is specially cool), how the story is told... I hated the jumpscare though, the game was doing so well by itself, i don't think it was needed. I'd have prefered something like that guy chasing to me briefly with a loud music before vanishing or something, but ofc that's me.

I would love to know what inspired you to do this and to know more about the symbolic part of the game, because I saw very very interesting things (I have my own theory as always ofc). And all free!, thanks!! I'll be looking forward to your future projects!

Such a cool game! I got the vibe of Mouthwash a bit!

Solid atmosphere the scares were good, the build up was done well and it worked smoothly a good experience and a disturbing one.

Following on from The Butterfly, Cold City is a surreal, visceral experience with some ambiguity that leaves the player with a lot of questions after the credits have rolled. I loved the creepy atmosphere, along with the narrative on display.

After having played the game, I've got a couple of interpretations as to what just happened (probably all wrong - lol)

1. Everything that is happening is in Maddie's head (her favourite film is with a pilot that saves a girl that loses a leg) and the character we're playing is a manifestation of someone who wants to save her by literally taking pieces of himself off for her (this could also explain how we see the 'flayed person' in different areas and why the phone turns up in several locations - she's effectively talking to herself)

2. We're playing an obsessed stalker that desperately wants to be her saviour - he knows all about her movements and her favourite films/cigarettes and will do anything to please her. He is both the pilot and the man in room 255.

3. The explosion at the beginning is the fighter jet colliding with their buildings - this is a form of purgatory and the character we're playing is in the seventh circle of hell, having to repeat his regret of not being able to save Maddie.

As said, probably all wrong, but an intriguing concept, to be sure!
