Innovative idea especially with the bullet mechanics! This was an interesting one! Great submission.

This was a unique game! The Cultist was very difficult but the bullet loading mechanic was something I hadn't seen before. The tutorial wall of text was a bit daunting, but apart from that, well done!

SICK GAME!!!

The whole turn-based gunfight idea feels like a classic duel but with a really interesting twist. Once the system clicks, planning the bullet order and trying to outplay the cultist is REALLY tense.

The art style also fits the whole paranormal / lovecraftian vibe really well. It gives the fight a lot of personality. I also liked how every bullet has a specific purpose, which makes the combat feel more strategic!!!

a fun fight. Nice work!

ALSO, if you like brain-teasing puzzle platformers, make sure to check out our game!!!

Developer

THANK YOU for your feedback, really mean it, we plan to at least try to expand it a bit more to give it a closure. Your game is sick, it was really addictive

This is great man!! Reminds me of classic turn based games and after 3 tries, the cultist has finally died! He was straight up spamming shots in the third phase, I killed him at 8 hp lmao.

Also now that you mention it I do see the lovecraftian influence!

Great work :))

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yes, due to a lack of time, we couldn't expand the monster pool as much as we wanted to really highlight that eldritch ambiance,  cheers.

Waitt why did I have to restart even though I killed the library guy? Fun experience though!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing, the Cultist is the only playable enemy so far in the game, time contains caught up with us. Cheers.

Enjoyed the fight alot, sadly there is only one, i really wanted more!! The idea is cool and the art is also great! Well done :D

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! We intended to add more fights but we didn't have time to polish so we decided to go just for one for the concept and plan to expand it later!

Submitted(+2)

I liked it made me feel like that dude with a big iron on his hip

Thank you!!

The Artstyle is very good. Also cool idea to give each bullet a distinct purpose. Great Work :)

really fresh experience man, i’m a sucker for those type of paranormal pulpy detectives so the aesthetic here is a 10/10, and the art serves it well i got a bit lost on the first fight, a bit too much to understand in such a new combat system, but it very cool, you have a sense of strategy and management with it, really works

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks for the comment! We're very pleased with the combat system, though it still needs a bit of polish. Due to time constraints, we haven't yet added inventory management or a loot/trade system, but introducing those will definitely add more strategic layers. Cheers!

It was a pleasantly strange experience, in a good way. I’ve never seen anything like this.

Thank you!

That was really innovative, I don't think I've seen a game exactly like this before. I wish I could hover over the icons on the enemy to remind myself of what they did, and a little more tutorialization would have been great, for example:

 - introducing an enemy with just one ability

-  next one having a different one

- next one having both

Would have loved to see something like that.  Regardless it was fun to play and like I said very cool and innovative combat system, would love to see it expanded!

Developer

Thanks for the comment, yes we were cut short with some features, the idea is for it to be hard and to require skill from the player in order to avoid holding your hand, we took a lot of notes from development and from comments so we will definitely improve some core mechanics and the art an feedback. Cheers

It was a very cool experience, i think the idea here is a winning one. pretty fresh compared to many other games. Music and art style were really good and i'm honestly impressive to what can be done in a single week! As you said in the disclaimer i'm sure that with different enemy types it can get even crazier and maybe in a broader game with this combat system you could even find different action bullets to create your own arsenal!

Developer

Hey, yes exactly. We will keep improving the user feedback via the game art and UI and as you say an inventory to manage ammo and items to aid in battle an provide more strategy options vos different enemy types. Thanks for your comment!

Super creative game. The whole memory mechanic is such a cool twist on turn-based combat. Once it clicks, planning the bullet order feels really good. Having the order matter makes it a lot more tense. UI and art are amazing too. The UI especially being easy to read in and out of combat. And the music absolutely adds to the intensity and keeps the pressure through the fight. The SFX feedback is clear and informs you of what just happened.

I'll admit, my memory betrayed me a few times trying to remember when to break shield or dodge lol, but that's the fun part. Really addictive loop once you get into it.

Developer(+1)

Glad you liked it, our idea is to engage the player besides the strategy with the memory mechanic so it actually kind of skill based. Thanks for the comment.

Hi

The game very innovative.

It has such potential. With the addition of new attack types and monsters, wow, the sky is the limit.

I found my self pondering over and over how to defeat the enemies.

Well done.

Here is our game for your entertainment =)

Thank you

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Appreciate it. Yes we have a lot of notes from ideas we couldn't implement as well as user feedback that this definitely can grow into a more complex and engaging game.

Quite hard, but addictive. I really needed to finish that cultist and after a several attempts I was successful. Interesting idea and I love the art. I wonder how would you want to game mechanic to be expanded, because I feel the 6 next moves is quite the maximum a player can keep in mind and if enemy has more than three skills, it would be really difficult. Great work overall!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the comment man, ideally the moster actions queue would be obfuscated and randomly show a reduced number of actions so the player didn't have to memorize all, but we didn't get it in time. The idea was to include the player's memory as another tool lol, one would definitely get better over time.

Submitted(+3)

Its a pretty cool strategy game and the visuals are pretty nice. I did find it a bit difficult though, especially since my memory isn't that great. But otherwise it was a good game!

Developer(+2)

Thank you for playing! Yeah we had a hard time deciding if we go easy or make it a bit harder for the sake of the jam, we definitely are going to adjust it later on

Submitted(+3)

Harder than expected but when I learned what counters what it was the worst nightmare of my enemies. also, I rally loved the art style it fits the game and really nice. Story past could have been better but it is tottaly fine it is a jam game. Great work

Developer

Thank you for playing! We definetly going to make some adjustmennts later on

Submitted(+2)

The gameplay here is really cool! While challenging, I think that being able to strategise which bullets you want to use to counter your enemies is really fun. I love the art style too, great job!

Developer

Thank you for playing!
