How does the game fit the theme?
Laika VI fits the theme as Laika is sent to a strange place that she is not familiar to. She is just a little dog, and Qen-1522 is such a huge, strange world.

I really enjoyed this game!
Thank you!
Really cool that you take inspiration from the real story of Laika. This is a really interesting concept and overall its a solid game.
Thank you! :)
Oh cool, the game is inspired by the real story of Laika, the first dog to enter space. Playing as a space dog trying to survive on an alien planet is a fun and creative concept. I like the idea of Laika VI trying to repair the rocket and escape the planet while fighting off alien mushroom-like enemies along the way. It’s a pretty interesting setup for an adventure. Nice work!
If you get a chance, feel free to check out and rate my game as well!
Thank you so much!
We will be sure to check it out!
This is a cute, simple game.
Some player feedback when the player is hit and when enemies are hit would have been nice, would have increased the game’s feel a ton.
Thanks for the feedback!
I totally agree haha, its really hard to tell when the player is hit. In a future update we plan on adding sound effects!
Great idea and beautiful visuals! Amazing job team :)
impressive game for a first time. Making game is hard but it's a beautiful job. Keep going ! Good job !
Very solid entry for a group of high school students. I think the main places to improve would be general game feel and polish things, things like audio and visual effects when shooting, when enemies attack and when you or enemies are hit. Great job adding some variety to the enemies, they seemed quite well done.
Thank you!
We were in a a very tricky place, as most of our work for our entire term was due the exact week of the jam lol, so it was a very stressful week. Perhaps on a different week it would have gone smoother.
I totally agree, We would have loved to add sound effects and a few more polishing features. Thank you for your feedback! :D
I had such a wholesome experience! The storytelling instantly set the correct vibe and I knew what I have to do to save Laika. Can totally recommend this to have fun 5 minutes.
Thanks! :)
It has a lot room for more polishing, but I liked it. In my humble opinion If I have to give some kind of advice it would be this: Some parts of the game feels incredibly well made and incredibly polished compared to other aspects. What I mean by that is, some of the cutscenes, the story presentation, the ending is very well done and quite possibly consumed the most of the development time. If you would have distribute your work force evenly in all aspects, the weak parts and the strong parts of the game wouldn't have had this much of a difference.
That being said, it's a fun little game; looks cute, plays good, overall I really liked it!
Thank you so much for your feedback, it's extremely valuable to us!
I totally agree the game is very unpolished seeming, and we can do better. Surprisingly enough the cutscenes are what took the least amount of time, and it was mostly the enemy logic and combat systems that took forever. Next time we update we'll be sure to keep this comment in mind, thank you!
Considering that I was sad the game was over, you did a good job. I would prefer it to be longer and incorporate the enemies more. For a new team, this is great.
Thank you so much! Our team is working to make this game longer and have more of a real gameplay experience when the jam is concluded!
Great game with simple movement. The story was unexpected but a nice surprise
That's a fun premise, honestly. The Laika twist is cool, and the into/cutscenes did a good job setting that up. The credit screen actually looked surprisingly polished too.
Gameplay's simple and easy to get into. The mushroom chasing/shooting keeps things moving, and having both melee and ranged gives you a little bit of choice instead of just smashing one button.
It's definitely early-stage feeling, but that's not a bad thing. For a small team still learning, this is a solid step. Just keep building it; more variety, more juice, more personality, and you'll see big improvements fast.
I noticed that the health bar gets hidden behind the rocks and mushrooms. I would suggest using y-sort so the player can appear in front or behind objects. The music was fitting, but sound effects for things like shooting or taking damage would add a lot. Overall the game is fairly well put together, good job.
thank you so much!
I totally agree with your feedback, I knew the health bar was extremely off putting when it went behind objects and was distracting. I should have fixed it before we released, but I will later on when we do an update!
And I really wanted to add sound effects, but like the health bar I just ran out of time. Thank you for the feedback!
I'm a dog in space shooting alien mushrooms? now that's really strange
I can’t think of a stranger world than one where a dog shoots mushrooms!
Nice story fitting the theme.
The gameplay was a bit short in my opinion though. I did personally not really need the dodge roll mechanic, but cool that you were able to implement it :)
I really enjoyed the music too, very good job :)
Thanks!
We have only just really started work on godot, and don't know much yet. Thank you for your feedback!
Laika still wants to go home
Played it through to the end, interesting concept and story. Good job!
Oh Awesome! I hope you enjoyed our short little game! :)
I liked this, fun short game. Did a great job communicating what to do, where to go and I liked shooting the little mushroom guys
Thank you! :D
I love this game! The transitions are smooth, the UI is polished, and the story is truly remarkable.
Thank you! :)
