very neat and funny game, didn't get the sus level at first until I got caught haha

I can already see the fun by judging the intro of the GIF. I already like the grayscale graphics, which is very different from the other games.  Some more BGM and SE would make this a great game.

This is great. Fun, easy to pick up concept with rewarding gameplay! The characters are great. I really like how when you release the space bar the hand comes back in, get a bit of tension before the person looks at you.

Great job!

Cool game! The visuals, writing, audio, are all fitting. The game feel is great overall.

The core stealth mechanic is well designed. Not sure what picking a pocket really feels like, but this somehow feels correct.

Seems more like a complete game than a jam entry. Kudos and all the best!

Thank you, it was a short and fun game, overall very well polished. There's really nothing I can suggest to improve, so I mainly highlighted what I liked.

Some notes that I took:

  • Great visual style and it worked really well with the music. I assume that you draw the sprites yourself, did you make the music, too?
  • The controls had a nice flow. Maybe you could make it possible to play the game with only keyboard or only mouse, it would go a long way in terms of accessibility. Unless I missed something, the pickpocket part is keyboard-only, but the menus are mouse only.
  • I liked the little dialogue snippets, the language seemed to blend well with the style established by the aesthetics and the music. My favourite was the "Skedaddle" button.
  • At first I was a bit confused by how Suspicion works, I thought it's something that's affected by how much time I'm spending in the pockets. Then I saw the lady looking at me suspiciously and it all clicked. Nice touch.
  • Perfect ending, didn't expect that, just like the other guy.

Stretchy arm gang!!

Sincerely, you have  a very original game design

Developer(+1)

💪Thanks so much! I think the arm did most of heavy lifting :)

This was great! Definitely one of my favorites so far. The core mechanic feels really clever, and I think it's fun enough to support a longer game if you choose to keep working on this.

Developer

That's great to hear. I am definitely considering continuing this one. thanks for playing!

I liked how well everything fit together from the animations, the music, and the art. Fun interpretation of the wild card. Nice job!

Developer

Thank you for playing! Glad it all felt like a cohesive experience for you

This was a very complete game! loved the unique game play and interpretation of the theme. I never thought pick-pocketing strangers could be so fun! Great work on the submission! full marks on the funness!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Stealth games are a classic for a reason, sometimes we gotta get a little mischievous >:)

Fun game,  great art, more levels please!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Hope I can find time to add more content

Fun idea and nice execution, it's simple and funny. Nice interpreation of a theme and wildcard.

Congrats on the submissino.

Developer

Thank you for playing! Congrats to you and your team as well!

Strong concept, great style, perfectly executed! Well done!

Developer

Wow, thank you so much!

the pickpocket mechanic is really smooth and the artstyle fits the game nicely.  one bug i found is that if u beat the game and then try to start a new game you start pickpocketing the old man again rather then the kid. id love to see more content added to this game

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'll look into that bug

Great art, efficient and fun gameplay, with fitting music. it's really good.

Maybe adding some kind of sfx sound on movement would have made searching the pocket even more satisfying.

Obviously I'd like more content but that's already a lot of work doing solo.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the kind words! There should be a sfx on movement, but there may be a bug

Actually it's my bad, I had volume too low, I tried again and it's ok. Base volume is a bit too low though. But it's far better that too loud !

Developer(+1)

Definitely. I adjusted the levels assuming someone might be at max volume. Will try to make time for a simple volume slider in the next one!

Ok, this is the one, everybody. Simple, elegant and the graphics work really well with the theme and the audio. Minor thing, but sometimes the passenger looks at me for way too long before I even have a chance to do anything, so I had to wait a long time or press enter real quick and get the sus level up

Developer

thanks for playing and for reporting that bug! I think I've seen it once or twice before but haven't figured out the issue. Will look into it

Ok, I played a couple of games today but this one was my favourite so far. The labyrinth minigames remind me of some stealth/stealing mechanics I liked in other games (fallout, bioshock, KCD) and added some tactility and skill and memorization aspect to it. the character art is really cute and the ending super satisfying. it really works well as a little self-contained project - well done! :)

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it! You described the exact experience I intended for players to have, so that's great to hear.

Really fun setting and theme.  The character art is great too.  The idea of balancing how deep to explore the maze with the "sus" meter is great because the further in you get the more risky it becomes.  It's the thief game mechanics of casing the joint then getting away with the swag boiled down perfectly.

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much for this comment! That is such high praise, really glad you enjoyed your time with it. The meter definitely made a difference in the experience. I initially had the player fail outright upon getting caught but it felt too punishing.

Cute little game with a pretty unique mechanic. The vibe was realllllly good, loved the style, writing and audio. Well done! You should be proud :)

Developer

Thank you so much ^^ glad you enjoyed the game!
